I am rich from all the things I have lost
Vanishing into a mist of missed opportunities
The knowledge lies inside, quiet like a lake
When he leaves for battle my skin aches and breaks
We take on our true form when they're gone
Layers of flesh fall to the ground
Underneath this tiny heart a dragon rises from the ground
I open yellow eyes and wake
Tough skin and deadly claws
You smiled at me and disappeared
For many years I will guard alone
The tiny home we call our own
Shed my skin and try on a new soul
Thousands of years old and rusted to the bone
My soul springs awake, gets ready for battle
But nothing lasts forever, nothing is ever given
Words are written, said and stolen
They want it back
Eventually
They always want it back
Greediness is the wound of Man
The result is spilled blood
And fallen tears
Wars are fought over countries
Murders are committed by passion
Cold blooded, show no compassion
Red is the colour of our everyday lives
And in necessary cases we spread our wings wide
Our homes we protect, our treasures we hide
We bare our teeth and hiss a cry
To scare them away we aim and fire
Open our eyes and watch over our treasure
In the midst of war we still smile and murmur
Make promises of brighter days
We will hand our skin in the living room
And pretend we never left the room
We will smile and welcome them home
Under the rug the trap will squeak quitely
A hidden mistress underneath our home
Treasures lie quiet and concealed
*Late at night
I
Open
The
Safe
And
Peek
In it I can see all the treasures you didn't take away from me
There is a point we reach in life
where we lose more than we gain
be it people, money, teeth or hair
We need to treasure what remains

If it's hair that we have lost
And our scalp is now exposed
we need to deal with what is left
and make our style not look posed

Teeth, now there's a mouthful
A subject that will make me smile
I left mine on a hilltop
And they've been up there a while

Money, what is there to say
That has not been said before?
The sinking dollar and inflation
Adds me to the working poor

But family, yes I said family
More die now, we're at that age
When we attend too many funerals
Instead, no weddings take the stage

Treasure your belongings
Your teeth, money and hair
But, remember all your loved ones
One day, they won't be there

There's a town
It glitters with light
In a valley with walls
That sharply ***** heavenward
Into vicious triangular teeth
Covered in snowpack
And ancient spines

I pondered the world around me
Looking
Staring
Around to what was seen,
Then I happened upon a bird
"Just sitting watching me"
I waved once,
I waved twice,
It just put it head to the side
Maybe to get a better angle on me,
It tweeted
And left, the last I thought to see,
But where one once was, now I count
Two
Three
Fourย ย
Five now perched upon the fence
On the tree, I was getting a
"Alfred Hitchcock"
Vibe, with all little eyes looking at me,
I smiled an awkward grin, teeth did show
Scattered to the wind,
I closed my eyes, noises
Singing awoke a slumbering me,
Six,
Seven,
Eight,
More birds, sitting on the fence,
But also congregating on the branches of the tree,
I waved once more,
Eyes watching upon me,
This is getting creepy
So I stood on all fours licking my teeth
And purred a
"QUESTION"
"Why do you congregate"
"And watch from a far upon me"
Tweeted words sung out to me,
"It just catches our attention that you being a cat"
Not once,
Not twice,
But three
"Times you have waved at us sitting"
Upon a fence,
Upon a tree,
"Childish games of youth"
I purred back,
I have a good life, I am not as wild
as you think, I wave to say hello
To listen to you sing,
"I walk up to the fence"
Pat once then two on the head you see,
"But there is a moral to this tale"
"What is that the birds sing"
As with reflects to fast to see
Not one
Not two
But three
Birds in mouth, they fly, flutter away
And with a mouth full I say
"Don't believe in what you hear or see"
"Were just more sneaky now"
Now shoo be gone, unless you wish
To all so ******* teeth upon your bodies.. and they flee.

Don't you miss the old me?
The old me wouldn't ever be.
What a waste of anything.

If I couldn't lie again
I would never have a friend.
Here I am, so hear my plea

Call the play. We'll burn the sea.
Breaking bones and I can see
Nameless fears I can't believe

We're losing sight of you and me
Rebel fist sink into teeth.
Golden hearts; they cease to beat

I was born in silence, bored of me.
If only death can set you free...

What kind of life is in store for me?

If only I could have you on me,
Like the clothes on my back
Have you closer to my skin,
Enough to find out each inch
Had a name of itโ€™s own
You can be the cold that always have my bones
Shivering
And my teeth chattering
And every inch of my skin
Feeling bothered
But it makes me
Grin wider
to fears i've turned into strengths
Bottoms Sep 2014

should i
brush
my teeth again?

fridged food i havenโ€™t forgot
chewed up
dental floss
