Behind the palm trees
In the vast, rust coloured sky
Sets the orange sun
Abner Ros Dec 2020
The synapse in which both of You and I meet.
Though, no longer can I tell where I end and You begin.
An enduring connection of which escape is dubious.
Inevitability remains a common guest,
A parasitic fiend that clenches control
As You and I laze, nonchalant of the approaching villain
That of whom strides quicker, grows stronger, and wills to linger.
A darkened silhouette against our brush plain.
Finally: It conquers us, You and I,
And as It reveals itself I see It's face - one of a cryptic familiarity.
The Unknown presents It's dominance with an otherworldly grin.
In that moment, I see what looms so maliciously.

I see that after all, It was truly You,
Rather than some unnameable Thing
Or a being higher than I,
My sunset plain was merely broken by You,
And You alone.

This is where I will love you,
from the waves of your storms,
and the echoing wind from the east,
they are no anchorage,
but the way you sound—
it was close to home.

Because truth is darling,
your brokenness is the place
where I am going to stay—
forget the unburning cigars
you left on my lips—
it burnt me off to the
patches of your kiss,
the swirling black holes
you have tug on my chest—
all warm with the rainfall of
chrysanthemum petals.

This is where I will love you,
no sunrises or moonfall—
it does not entangle with
star-written poetry
you took halfway,
the late-night drive
that ends with
laying down on
your chest or
the subway walks
that we ended up
chasing the moon.

darling, this is where I will love you,
from the ends of your fall,
to the last bit of your
sunsets.

sky
gazing at the never ending sky,
i **** every last thought on my mind.
watching the birds fly free,
vaguely hoping they take me.

i paint the sky,
make it mine,
put my heart and soul into it.

for once i let my gaurd down,
begging for inner peace,
openly accepting the desolation,
as i hope for the chord to ease.

the darkness swallows the golden light,
with soft promises to reunite.

A wide plain covered with setting rays
Warm scented air blowing through the aisle
Tweeting sounds I hear from the birds;
Sweetens my heart and melts all worries

Capturing every moment results in a hypnosis
Suddenly my eyelids kiss each other
My chest raises and slowly lowers,
Breathing that makes me feel sky-high

The trees dance to the rhythm of the wind
I gladly join the moment in my mind
A smile graciously falls without effort:
Enchantment by nature is absolutely gay.
Nature has a way of solving problems like stress. Give it a chance to make you feel better when you're almost burning out.

Your smiles are my sunsets

Breathtaking,
impossible to capture,
yet fondly pursued

I can’t risk blinking
For fear I’d miss a moment
of this captivating view

And every evening,
when the sky turns pink
and dark shades of blue,

I will remind myself
That You;

Your smiles,

are my sunsets.

The veins of my eyelids
a sharp toned red
transforms into a blinding white
my eyes swivel to peak at the sun

I want the light to seep into my bones
longing to instead be a plant
slowly photosynthesizing

It would be easier perhaps,
to whisper sweet nothings
to the wind
rather than tightening my throat
strangled by my human body
the grief never quite leaving my lips

Shadows cross my bedside
shapes of blowing leaves tumble over
as the sun turns her head west
I watch the flurries of colors pass by
I'd be better if the sun didn't go down at 4:00p

I dream of us reuniting as the water reunites with the sand and carries it along
So I could get to express the love I kept suppressed beneath
But I don't know if ever in this life, you will come back
With a frail twine of hope, I now breathe

I witness the lazy sunset on our favourite beach alone, every day
Which once we did together in one another's arms
I write your name on the sand, hoping for the water to not wash it away
Not before you come back and I fall for your subtlest charms

I sit for hours, from dusk till dawn, waiting for you to return
So we could sleep by the water and wake up to the sun
Watch the sky turn tangerine and then paint it all black
And sleep under the stars while the tides sing us lullabies. Oh, such fun.

And if you ever come back, I will first kiss your lips and caress you whole
So you could immerse all the love and keep it sealed in between your ribs
Only then I will always be close to your heart like you are to my soul
And a fire will ignite, helping us keep the love and the burning desire alive.
