You taught me a love like I had as I became one with the universe.
You taught me like as if I were the sky. Rays between, above as below.
I meet with the stars, as the sun settles and the moon blooms
Oh sweet prairie, let me lay down
In sweet scents and tickles on my face
Sweet love like a release of air
To be your breath
Our breath
The breath in between.
I long
For you.
I was on the phone with a boyfriend of that time, we were talking and a Sunbeam light refracted off my window pane and blinded me a bit. I had to get off the phone with him right away once the poem came to me. It's like that with me, it's like a rush of golden light that with the conversation and light, it forced me to stop. And get this on paper. And this is what came of it. I hope you like it 💕

I enter what I can only describe
as a waking dream
staring into the future
I see him, a hint of recognition
around his eyes
grey hair, no,  more silver
like the light has brought it
alive
far wiser than me
more forgiving
I realise that for all
my chasing
hunting the sunbeam
it has always been there
in the landscape, captured
by my photographic obsession
it never left me
I have always been a part of that light
and my future self
has been struck
ignited
like a lightening bolt
As a small boy I wanted to sleep in the sunbeam that flooded the carpet of our living room, but my mother wouldn't let me.

oil slicked skin, smothering sunbeams
when did we get so far?
once upon a kin, could we do it again?
soaking up your energy like a sponge
been waiting on your remedy for too long
i have been too strong, waiting for the one

Flakes of sunbeam,
falling like the stars,
flooding the serenity.

Proof that life has existed before I did.
Proof that stories have their truths.
Proof that I will take a piece of each place with me,
and proof that I will give each a piece back.

Proof that long after I’m gone,
I will still float among the stars,
flailing about in a beautiful cascade
of silence. Becoming ugly. Yet,
in the even faintest glow of light,
I will cover everything,
a melody of which only I
remember.

There was a time when we were happy together
The stresses of life were nothing more than the weather
And every smile on our faces brought us pleasure

But there are times in life when the wind becomes fast
And the sunshine turns to rain so the warmth doesn’t last

There is a split in the cloud, where the sun breaks through
That little bit of sunshine is when I see you
Without my sunbeam, what will I do?

And then there’s something tantamount to this sunbeam in these bleary times—
the wildflowers, which grow everywhere in their own paradise;
a kindergartner running by herself even a few feet away from her friends, picking dandelions,
still with a sunny smile.
The ray of light shining through the window of isolation rooms as a sign of hope from heaven.
Sparks will still flow within our hands.
To still feel the everlasting warmth of sunshine.
The light we needed to surpass this cloudy shadow of our current circumstance.

Hello Sunshine...

Hello sunshine, where have you been
It's great to have you back again
With all the warmth and comfort you give
With all the light and beauty helping us live
To all the wonders of your power and your force
We stay the course

In the evening when you go away
Dropping sunbeams with a trace of gray
Then the you set, with colors gracing our eyes
Leaving our skies

There's darkness where light had been
Hoping that you will come again
Good morning

I see you in my wildest dreams
I see you when I sleep
Both night and day I want you
I yearn to take the leap

It's hard to do it now
And I'm not saying we would
Just know I love you dearly
One day maybe we could

Please think of me often
I know I will for you
I see your beauty daily
In the sunbeams and morning dew

Yes sunbeam showers grace form
in dancing spirals that fall
to integrate with wind.
Oh how grand feels thy
As clouds meet the blue
As birds whistle tunes
As moments mingle with mind
feeling suns rainbow rays.
Ah! the self be warmed with grace
to bring forth smile on lips.
And darken clouds stay gone
for rains not be till night
Yes sun does shine so bright.
REVERSAL POEM TO BE READ EITHER WAY. FIRST TIME I TRIED THIS KIND OF POEM

The rays of the sun
Shines through the transparent glass window
Illuminating the room
Sunbeams playing around
With shadows on the ground
My gaze upon a golden figure
Glowing in the standing mirror
Teasing me
Into a world of timelessness
And endless whispers
Roaring within me
With laborious vigor
It’s heat most appealing
In this dry cold.
Shadows appearing on the edges
At the end of the sun’s rays
Dancing on the edges
Taunting me
Yet teasing me
With unspoken words
A glamorous invitation
To a sonorous congregation
In the shadows
Beyond the rays of the sun.
