slowly the fog creeps
in our township's sleeping streets
dense is its heavy shroud

The crowded streets,
The empty nights
Were the same;
Scary and dreary,
Till I met you.

Whether it was spark,
Or it was dark
I was the same;
Numb and dumb,
Till I met you.

You showered love
In oddest times,
Trained me seeing
Beauty in everything,
Accompanied in loneliness,
Exhilarated in clumsiness.

The sense of you
Had woken my eye,
The strike of your light
Ignited my mind,
The pill of your pleasure
Had cured my heart,
Hymns of your wisdom
Enlightened my soul.

Oh! Books!
I'm grateful!

Collecting cans on a street corner,
                      a penny for my thoughts
as I gather my riches from discarded efforts.

One became two,
                        as many became more..
Hard work is the fortitude of motion.

So many empty breaths caught
within final swallows, but like a magpie
            I collect there glistening droppings..

I was homeless once, but I collected throw away
                                                                 moments...
But now I'm on my feet, and I never throw away
my memories like cans I now collect them...
Satisfaction

Civil war began with whispering souls seeking setisfaction.
The floor is paved with thornes,
in streets filled with thugs
taking drugs seeking setisfaction in the sky world.
their dreams are getting high.
Like space race, we target from range.
South Africa's political system scar the hell out of me sometimes, we turn to shift our focus from keeping thugs off the street to taking our leaders down.
Cast the first stone
We moving the streets like we queuing for judgment,
In divided societies searching deviants
We have lost our moral compass
Our demons navigating hell
Place called Home
It rains umbers.

Corruption termed mismanagement of funds
None willing to lift a heavy stones.

I was told scorpions inhabited stones’ shadows,
So I won’t cast the first stone
But remain in judgment for their curses
I will move the street till sunset.
Judged.

A street is a sight to behold!
At first glance, you may disagree.
For, it seems so cacophonous and befoul,
One may prefer to flee.
But once you beat ignorance,
Then you begin to see,
That the sight that just seemed awful!
Is now filling you with sheer glee.

The noise starts to fade,
And a certain music ascends,
And all the traffic starts dancing
To the beats of some indiscernible band!
And while you are being awestruck
By this momentous encounter,
If you pause, you’ll again, realize
that the grandeur of this show
Is greater than what you see.
For it is “The grand show of the street”
And every denizen of or visitor to
The city has been a part of it.
Every one of them, including you.

It starts in the morning,
With performances from
Chirpy children, sonant hawkers,
The devotees, the walkers
And the other morning birds.
Then slowly the vehicles enter
Adding their own tunes and rhythm.
The show reaches its first peak, just before noon
Then it steady descends but just does not goes numb.

Then as the evening approaches,
The music again rises,
The dance intensifies.
And the glamour of lights, adds
To the splendor of the show
And then slowly the music descends to null,
And the city takes a bow.

But the show does not end here,
For, it never does.
As the lights go dim
And the night departs,
The street is ready
For the next part.

One can be a critique,
and complain,
That street is a sad place,
Full of pain and disdain.
Or one may become an admirer
Of the everlasting spree
And enjoy this pure bliss,
That being a part of this show is.

On city streets
late at night
in the cold winter
I walk
and run
not too numb
to feel
not too blind
to see
my dream
like a summer day
long gone now
only cold to crystallize my fate
like frost on the window
icy patterns
trying to get in
I reach
and pound my fist
against the wall
of humanity
of denial
stretching across the horizon
as far as I can see
I am lost in a crowd
only the sun
beating down
reminding me
I am hot, so hot
I'm going to die
on city streets
It won't be easy
remember me
I walk
and run
away
like a summer day
long gone now
