in the dark of midnight
i look up at the sky.
sipping sweet silky tea
as the stars watch over me,
like a shining knight
twinkling in my eye.

you used to be free
a kind and caring teenager
who’d sing me gentle melodies.
but now south of ursa major
is where you’ll permanently be.

across ***** of a flaming sea,
you picked your star perfectly.
the mama bear suits you,
like cool evenings and water dew.

your laughter is still clear in my mind
as i rewind, rewind, rewind.
tears turning me blind.

i start strumming on my guitar
while singing, “my little star

why did i never make you mine?”

is it bad i wish you suffering
because it means you're alive

we promised moonlight
we promised beach

but i float down the shore alone
my feet yet to touch ocean floor

as your dust settles back into the stars
the tide keeps pulling away
i see the rippled glass of the sand

a face shaped wildly by the sunlight you never got to see
a distorted image of me

i imagine you lived a hundred thousand years just to believe the line wasn't cut short

i imagine you lived a hundred thousand years just to believe the line wasn't cut short

in the shells i pick up, are lies
and i fill my mouth with all these little shells

you lived a hundred thousand years
you lived enough to see
you know me, even now
and your dust wont settle in the stars

it'll form in a ghost in my backyard

For months I dreamed, (or so it seemed)
That I had lost Orion.
Eyes to the skies on summer nights,
Across the dark horizon.
I raked the skies, the hidden lines
To find that midnight archer.
And yet the stars, silent and far-
Did seem to grow much darker.

Plenty of stars we see,
Yet only adore the moon.
Just like those around,
Though we still cherish a boon.

the left lane traveller stays his course
as overtakers do pass him by–
daggers shot through mirrored reverse,
though they ne’er meet his eye

for on his own, and on he stays
forward through by through–
the road beneath him stretches day
from night to morning, too

and on he drives as darkness Falls;
and in each blow of wind
in solitary starlit routes,
the left lane welcomes him

those arrived forgot to see,
neglecting constellations draped;
alone in their rooms, asleep in their beds
dancing a stage, once was raked

judgement passed for driving slow;
for them, he too does feel–
in learn-less ways, then while he grows
rushed minds, now idle, yield

there, beneath the cold vast empty,
yet before the morning snow–
softly shaded by gum trees, his
arrived finally, entirely home.
The ocean feels vast and mysterious, doesn't it?
The sunset paints the sky in golden light.
The silence after a storm feels peaceful,
As the stars seem so distant tonight.

The world continues to turn,
The clouds drift lazily by,
The waves keep crashing on the shore,
As the moon looks lonely in the sky.

The flowers bloom in vibrant colors, don't they?
The mountains stand so tall and strong.
The world feels quiet in the nighttime,
As the wind whispers its gentle song.

The stars twinkle high above me,
The wind sings a melody,
And in the stillness of the night,
The world just keeps moving, endlessly.

goodnight stars
you have been good to me

goodnight to the past
and recent regrets
doubts that swirl in my brain
like a never-ending current
you're gone too

gone are the thoughts that don't serve me
serve in a way that gratitude
and appreciation do

I'm sleepy now
with a kiss of happiness
and love so sweetly
whispering beneath me
from my pillow
You're scared of the dark,
Don't worry, I am too.
But you can have my nightlight,
If you can sleep sound with it.

The world eludes you,
You wonder why it carries you with a crooked hand.
And you wish it would just put you down,
But if you want to know the sky,
I can lift you up straight and strong.

You're terrified of yourself,
Each night darker and darker.
But I'll hold you tight,
And make sure you don't slip down.
Because if you lay in the ground,
You'll never see the stars.
When life gets tough, you got to be tougher.

Let’s make love under the stars,
Jupiter and Mars
If you can hold the stars in space
Setting motion our time and place
Into the deepest depths and
darkest nights
I’ll follow you down

Through the cosmic dance, we'll sway
Our love, a gravitational pull, each day
In the silence of the universe's roar
Our hearts will beat together, forever more

In the celestial tapestry, we'll weave
Our love, a shining thread, to forever leave
A constellation of memories, bright and true
Guiding us forward, my love,
I'll follow you.
It’s the season of love.

I sit on a hill
Grass poking into my palm
The night air woven in ice
The sky is filled with glittering stars
Nestled within the frozen void
Like little jewels in black velvet

Such beautiful corpses
The light of stars will still be visible from earth for a long time even after they die.
