If only things were as easy as 1,2,3
A,B,C
Like elementary
Arithmetic and spelling
Simple science
Gym was always stunning
Recess was revered
The swings were sacred
Writing on the jungle gym
Laughing
Running off with friends to play
Being enchanted by the smell of coffee and trees
Magic every second you breathe
Simply because you were somewhere you weren't supposed to be
Close your eyes
Now what do you see?
Darkness?
Dots of color?
Phantoms of light?
Remember when you saw dragons
Wizards
Whole worlds enchanting
When you walked people said it seemed like you were dancing
Remember when you were happy?
There was no worry about what to do
What are you going to be?
You had your whole life
Figure out what to do
Well what now?
What's your plan?
Too bad
Too late
It's not elementary
None of your dreams can come true
You're completely *******

For us, life holds;
countless enigmas,
uncertainty of existence,
certain exceptions,
bulks of expectations,
improbable concoctions,
perfect nothingness,
imperfect pains,
high level dreams.
But,
don't you think!
Brevity of human life,
ephemeral stay in this world,
is more simple and lucid.
Simplicity and Lucidity,
is all that life can give.
i was reading multiple quotes and made the poem out of the main words.

for our children and their children
~~~
the reason we say so oft,
in whispers emboldened,
I love you
to our children
is not the utility of
its summarizing brevity
no, no.
it is because
the eloquence of simplicity
supersedes any other poem
we could ever write...
Let bygones be bygones,
Don’t want to be an icon,
I’d rather make time
For the things that are vital
I’ve been running on fumes
How I love her perfumes
Kiss her on the neck,
Tell her about the brand new
Views
Don’t get it confused
The apartment’s empty
And I’ve been on a journey
The voices getting blurry
The love has probably perished
The moments that we cherish
Forever as a memory, but
I’m losing track,
I woke up early mornin’
Covered in sweat
Oh, I got a smartphone,
I’m so fond of that
But nobody calls me
And nobody texts
The laptop’s always on
I never turn it off
That artificial light
Always has to glow;
Counting hours till the dawn
And the time is moving slow
I’m forever getting bored
And my interests become torn
But thats the simplicity, though
Thats the simplicity, though
Is the simplicity better I don’t know,
You ask me where I’m headed,
I don’t know.
It's wonderful to see
The mountains, strong and tall
An eagle taking flight
Or the colors in the fall
But why do we not notice
The beauty in the little things?
Things that we see every day
That are simple, yet amazing
A flat field of grass...
Makes my heart run free
Even a single breath of wind
Stirs the life within me
So when you dream of jungles
But wake to find just one tree
Look closer and you'll realize
There's beauty in simplicity
Sometimes in life we need perspective. We need to see the bigger picture. But there are also times when we need to look CLOSER to see what we missed before. For the perfect example: a snowflake. You see a snowflake fall from the sky and it looks like a blob. But when you take the time to examine the snowflake, you see the incredibly ornate pattern that it creates. Look closer. See something beautiful in something you thought was a blob.
Everything in quotations marks and italics was written by TS Eliot.
eyes knowing glossy men,
sheer women, creatures,
not all artists, but artists,
always thus,
centrifugal, simple
from their core,
emanate, resonate,
expand the exterior
with interior precision sculpting
to the interior delve,
via brush or limb,
pen or music,
the exposition, the exploration,
the reconstruction of composing
one's self, creation and destruction
of your own myths
movement of arms and legs,
sparseness of simplicity
subsidiaries of centricity,
tributaries of complexity,
oriented to their locality
the simple purpose of inhalation,
to exhale, after transformation,
the calculus of thought into emotion:
"the tongues of flame are in-folded
into the crowned knot of fire and
the fire and rose are one"
the dancers hear the music:
"so deeply that it is not heard at all,
but you are the music
while the music lasts."
**”Quick now, here, now always –
A condition of complete simplicity
(Costing not less than everything)
And all shall be well and
All manner of thing shall be well"
"Immature poets borrow, mature poets steal." T.S. Eliot (1888 - 1965)
Inspired this evening by the Martha Graham Company, the words and wisdom of TS Eliot, from whom she took inspiration in her choreography of modern dance
Two faces so close and lost
Her hairs blinding me
