Hiding your God-given light
Is a tragedy,
A waste,
A deprivation.
Shine bright
Baby girl
For all the world to see,
And be
Who you are meant to be.

Shine

Broken pieces still shine
They still shine bright in the dark
I am skin and bones
I am on my knees
Begging for a new way to bleed
I fed the dark for so long
That these pieces of my heart
Have turned into a maelstrom
Of a chaotic mess
I am skin and bones
I am on my knees
Begging for a new way to breathe
I have lived in this dark
That my wings are lost
I am skin and bones
And my heart will shine
These broken pieces will shine.

"Tell me the sun doesn't shine when I am gone." She said softly, eyes looking up, earnestly at him.

"But it does, my dear, the sun shines all day long. And I am like the weary moon, who misses your warmth on those cold, dark nights. "
This bit of prose was written in 2016.

She sang with a beauty that made the sun shine brighter with every tune that floated up to the sky.
But one day she stopped singing.
A strange little boy told her, that no one gave a single **** about her little ditties.

She didn't cry.

She simply stopped singing, and went on about her life.
She kept to herself and the world began to wonder why everything seemed so quiet.
Then the sun stopped shining.
He couldn't go on, making the world a brighter place, if she couldn't sing her songs to him each day.
One night, the moon visited the girl.

"My child, you know that the Sun longs to hear your voice again. Do not worry what little boys tell you, they cannot make the music that you can. This night will last for many years if you do not raise your voice. Go on, summon the Sun."

Reluctantly, she stepped outside, and with a rusty voice,  she sang as loudly and as honestly as she could.

And as tears rolled down her cheeks, the Sun rose in the east, with tears that evaporated into steam as quickly as they came.

And the strange boy fell in love with the way she looked
to him when she sang to the sky.
This poem was written in 2016. It's inspired by the Legend of Zelda. :)

W: Waves crashed against 2020 pebbles
A: against the shoreline. Colliding with one another, the pebbles slowly chipped away at each other, breaking apart. And
Y: yet, seven constellations twinkled above them in the midnight sky. The constellations of the captivating cat, sophisticated sheep, benevolent bear, unfaltering unicorn, dynamic dragon, lively lion, and curious chick shone brightly through the dark expanse, as if signaling to the pebbles below,
V: "Venture out beyond the horizon, for there you will find the 2021th pebble and be able to turn the tides. Even if storms darken the sky, the sun will always shine again. The celestial bodies will always be here for you, shining bright in the cosmos but even brighter when midnight strikes."

The clouds break
And the light
Shines through.

Who knew
All this time
That the light
An entire cosmic universe.
Asteroids, stars, and galaxies.
One in a billion,
Still, you're the one to see.
Light-years turn to eons,
Time will set you free.
But you, my dear constellation,
Shine for infinity.

I am feeling sad, done and tired,
where is my peace I always desired?
Sometimes I feel like I should just call it a day,
let my despair wash me away.
All expectations are like chains,
holding me down,
when it rains,
waiting for me to drown.
Through the clouds, I couldn’t even see the sun,
and I thought I was done,
but suddenly I saw a ray of light,
it was small but really bright,
and then it began.
Every colour known to a man,
glowed above my head,
telling me to move ahead.
That’s when I understood,
that even when nothing’s feeling good,
without the painful rain,
the rainbow would never shine again.
remember that there cannot be a rainbow without any rain!
