"Dude!
Did you hear about
That girl at the party
Last night?
She got so wasted!
Jumped up on the bar
And danced and danced and danced!
Dude!
You shoulda seen her!
Them moves of her hips!
Sweet ******* lips!
Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!
Dude.
I'd'a taken her home
And shown
Her a **** good time.
Mmm mmm mmm!
Dude...
Where were you last night?
How come you weren't there?
You missed a helluva time!
Yeah...buddy...a helluva time..."

He taps his fingers
Three times on the marble
Then he looks up
Sighs
Walks away

"A helluva time."

I did not look back following the light.
As copper chimed in the rooting cellar
Of the morn, my heart muffled in delight,
Still in shroud, my father farmed the water.
Set his son to love and the kindred waters,
That man of fire swelled, plumbed with pride,
Made of self, stride and hollow pipes to solder
His starry hands and elbows panicle the sky,
But I, being water sign, a young Orpheus
Born in the underworld, found music and words
And maidens of air and earth and wanderlust
To the sun I ran, my fathers call not heard.
I did not look back following the light
Until my love called delivering the night.

I wonder
                    if my name
                    is tattooed
                    on the inside
                    of your                    eyelids

like your name
                    is tattooed
                    on the inside
                    of mine.

I've been alive for twenty years
but now that doesn't seem so long,
for now it's clear the end is near
in death I must be strong.

No, it doesn't seem so long ago
that we walked hand-in-hand in the snow
yet with steel in my hands I left to fight in foreign lands
the lands where my blood now flows

I fought with valor, like a true warrior
with blood and iron to give.
When I looked up at the sky, I was too scared to die
but right now, I'm too frightened to live

I promised you I would return
assured you that you were my own.
Now I lay in the mud and I'm covered in blood
and I know now that you'll be alone.

I had everything I'd ever need
but I lacked the wisdom to see,
here comes the breath that shall herald my death
this "glory" is now worthless to me.

I'm sorry for this, my love.
I wish I could go back to before.
May no more young men meet early ends
at the hands of the siren named War.
One of my few verse poems.

A vanishing cloud, ethereal with a heart shaped red blot in the middle
told her without words, "It's time to dissolve, I can't wait anymore,
it's night, my eyes droop I have to sleep, no time is ripe to say goodbye ever
don't grieve, I am not going anywhere, be back here as things you love most
a strain of music wistful in the evening air, a lovely bird streaming blissfully
in cold mountain air, a sad poem that makes a mother cry for a short while
then dry her eyes and smile,or anything you love without any reason obvious,
will you remember me then, when I am in another, mother dear?"

We live in a world of fear
A world where danger lurks too near
I'll still speak on

I speak to deaf ears
No one listens
no one hears

Peace Brother
No reason to fight
Peace Brother
A message of light

Put down your weapons
Let's figure this out
Don't start a fight again
You've no reason to shout

Guns fire
Explosions sound
People dying
look around

I speak behind
Telling them what to see
I speak to the blind
Can't tell them what to be

Peace Brother
No reason to fight
Peace Brother
A message of light

Put down your weapons
Let's work this out
Don't start a fight again
You've no reason to shout

The sound of war
It rings through time
A sound like none before
A well missed sign

We need to stop
The endless battle
The fight for the top
Like mindless cattle

We try to win it
We press on forward
With our bad habit
No one cares they just move onward

They shout and yell
The can't talk nice
And the children can tell
This habit is a vice

So Peace Brother
No reason to fight
Peace Brother
A message of light

Put down your weapons
Let's figure this out
Don't start a fight again
You've no reason to shout

Peace Brother
Don't fight, Don't shout
Peace Brother
Let's work it out

Peace Peace
My message of
Peace

There was once a swing hanging from an old tree,
By the house on fifth street.
And as a little girl everyday I would go to play
On that swing and fly high
Oh so high! Up in the sky !

Until one day the swing broke;
There had been a storm the day before .

A few years later I found a rock
High up on the hill top.
I would stand on it and stare
At the big vast city below;
Marvelling, wondering ...Amazed!!

Until one day we left the town
And the hill top far far behind.

I had a fish once, it wasn't mine per say;
It lived in a pond , just outside school
And I would go to it everyday.
It gave me such joy to have this friend,
It was missing a fin, just so you know.

Until one day I saw a cat by the pond;
The fish was no more .

Many years later I fell in love, married and had a child.
He was a wonderful man, my husband-
Kind generous compassionate
And I love him so !

But one day he came home with a doctor's report
A year hence, he was no more.

I married several years later
But that love I could never again find.
And now at eighty I lie on this bed
Counting till it's time.

And every time I think of that swing I curse the storm;
I think of the hill, wishing I could have stayed;
I hate the cat that ate my fish;
But more than that, I hate the disease that stole my love.

Then I realise, I should instead revel
In the euphoria from the swing and hill;
And think instead of my fish and not the cat.
Cherish those memories with my husband
And not dwell on that last year of his life!

But some how, the glass was never half full for me
.
.
And all I have in the end is Regret
