What good does it do for me to love a God?
I am nothing but a human, a hopeless creature.
Sabotaging everything I love is my true nature.
Loving you doesn't come easy to me.
It's tearing me apart knowing that we don't have a future.
How can I protect my soul against the force of nature?
How can I work on the storm in my heart?
I was silent symphony you have undone me.
I am snow-blind at your golden sight,
I selfishly leach to your unearthly company.
I am trembling with a frantic uproar,
An inquiring rumble so deep it shocks me too.
You crept into my black dreams,
turning every unspeakable ****** nightmare into a rosy dream.

I am a creature starved of love,
you are an enchanting mirage of affection.
How can I not fall for your exquisite smile?
Your intangible but visible presence brightens my unholy sky.
Unknowingly, you snared my heart.
Now I am ruined for this lifetime.
But what good does it do for me to love a God?
I might as well love the sun or the stars or anything else that's forever out of reach.

Start now knowing joy,
that’s an order,
overcome a deepening solitude.

Like a bee at a bugle
or me at the deli
on Third Avenue.

I said to Joe when do you think this weather will break?
He jokes, April.
That’s no joke. Weak creatures die and the strong barely survive.

Half a year goes by
another cancer checkup.
Cheer up. Any weather’s

better than no weather at all.
There’s always governance
even when there is no government.

My candidate drops out
after Iowa. Why do I always lose
at politics and poker?

Peace at last!
No lawnmowers, no leafblowers.
Big comfy couch.

Meditate on this: Do what has to be done.
Find your lover gazing at the moon
and take your garbage to the dump.

Your web site evaporates
and your possessions are thrown in the dumpster
except your trumpet which finds its way to a future trumpeter.

Moon behind branches –

Don't think about it, but look:

moon behind branches.

I wish desperately
for the opportunity to announce that
The moon looks beautiful, tonight.

For me, it is like a fever dream.
One night, perhaps.

Lost in
lunar waves,
Tossed by
your embrace…

A celestial
twinkle
of memory
lives on
indefinitely…

I’ve had you
in passing glances
and in soul-holding
stares…

I’ve had you with
ice cream
with three stuffed bears…

I’ve had you in
sweltering summer,
in lentil soup fall…

I’ve had you without
ever having had you
at all.

O you bleak, bleak little soul
Tell me, what do you want?
The crescent shines a quiet heaven
And winds whisper on
What do you want?
Ask, and have you shall
Ask, ask, ask on
Blue fires smiling green
Or ashen papers soaring up the dark
Two nights ago

We tore an old notebook into
Rootless pages
And crumpled them into *****
One upon the other slept
As the matchstick kissed herself a flame
And shrivelled up like a worm
The papers gleamed from inside out
dragon dens, alive at last
And they smoked all the curses
We dare not utter

They burned themselves away
And fire, the fire followed
The embers remained

They twinkled on the black concrete
Daughters of the sun
Quietened beneath our shoes
Tell me, you bleak, bleak little flower

What is it you ache for?
Dawn brings forth his circus
And hues fill up the world
Why do you weep?
There are drinks that
Make the tongue dance around
Spices as lively as bees

Women prettier than stars
feather touches, and tender seas
voices that dance steady and slow
There are glories on the mountains
Waiting to be loved
Rings and rollercoasters,
Rooftops there are
Ask, ask, ask away

Bards, and beaches
Prayer mats stitched with gold

Thunder upon chirping cities
Moors, and meadows
Museums of all the futures ahead
What do you want?
Ask, ask, ask it all
O you beak, bleak little moon
Why will you not speak?

A garden of dahlia
Where memories are stored
The moonlight shines upon the flowers
My heart is buried under

They shine bright during the autumn
Like my love for you during the summer
So breezy in the spring
Now my soul is frozen like winter

The dahlias hold the memory of us together
I was left drunk gazing at it
I smile while my tear rolled down my cheek
And land on the flower

If only I could hold you once more
Like how I hold these flowers
I won't let go of you when you're in my arms
Because we both lost each other before

I remember cooking for two. Last Sunday afternoon,
the stove light hit the fritz. Same bulb I ******* in the night before you called it quits.
By Tuesday, the burner I simmered onions on
had begun to rust away.
Wet metal tears,
as I sacrificed the dish we loved to the microwave.
Round and round it went. Watching, as the plastic peeled and bent;
remember treating you with the same contempt.
Left with soggy slop and goo; starved for love,
I eat my heart out with a spoon.
Love is food we blindly consume.

You shiver with content staring into the sea,
Reminiscing over past events which have shaped your life,
All these mixed feelings twine like spider webs,

You linger for a hand in the darkness,
A comfort you once had,
Seeking for a connection you left behind,
Feeling so far away from your mind

Often feels like a clouded view,
Of not knowing what you need,
Rather than knowing what you want,

As the pebbles hit your feet,
You hear the storm coming over from the cliffs,
The grittiness of the cold bites your lips,
You slowly move towards the sea edge,

Arms spread wide as the strong breeze hits,
Wind pushing hard against your hips,
You steadily moving further closer to the ambush of waves,
The shore rumbles and roars,
Spraying salty sea water across your face,

You stare above to see the burning moonrise
The moon widens like a Cheshire Cat smile,
You somehow feel safe and content,
Able to confront the anxieties,
Which have been growing from inside
