I don't need a geographer
To take me round the world
I don't need a compass
To direct me south west east north
I don't need a sailor
To sail me in the dark light seas
I don't need a pilot
To fly me all way above the earth
Let me whisper the truth in your  ears
My lady is the world
Inside her is the map
She takes me round the world
She magenetizes me to the paths
She sails my heart through the storms
She flies my mind out of the earth
And she whispers the truth in my ears
You must travel round me my Love

here's a map to my heart,
and here's a knife while you're at it

I thought this was a painting I hadn't started
but its a collage with sections like open water
With territories left uncharted
I've got some strange inspiration
Above all
I thank the stars
For the gift of wayfinding.

Above it all
I gaze higher still
Or to the sunlit valleys below
To find my way.

The gift of terrifying awe as Orion's belt peers through the trees, bringing South.
The gift of sure confidence as I point the Dippers out to others, bringing North.
The gift of guesswork as we discover behind which peak the sun will rise, bringing East.
The gift of inevitable hush that descends along with her, bringing West.

The gift of heavy elements
Composing all
And my body
And these eyes
That were also made for
Reading maps,
Reading signs,
Reading animal sigils.

Above all
I thank the stars
For teaching me
To be less blind
And to find My Self
In the world.
10/24 Inktober prompt: Blind
After a long day of
getting lost in the rain;
turning wrong instead of right,
wrong instead of left;
somehow always seeing that same
cafe over and over and over again.

Cold hands grip the corners.
Pacing round this grey city,
glancing at street signs inconspicuously;
pretending not to be new.

The blues pull on the resolutions
till they’re broken by the spring
sunshine which finds
all the things January lost.

I'm a map,
I can tell you where to go,
I can guide you through life,
I can aid your journeys.

You can use me to help you.
You can use me to care for you.
You can use me.
For I am merely an object,
that has no sense of feeling.

I have no feeling for pain,
so you can throw me around.
Batter me.
Taunt me.
You can crumple me up to throw me out,
and replace me with a new map.
One that's more up-to-date and stylish.
It doesn't matter,
I can't feel,
so I surely can't be impacted.
At. All.

I'm a map,
Use me right and never get lost,
use me wrong and ruin a good map.

‪your eyes remind me‬
of a toy i used to play
i don't miss it
but i remember it

deep by the blue ocean
covered with the sand
sitting with the rest
of the lost treasures

it seems as if yesterday
was the golden hour
of my time on earth
for you were there

as i try to memorize
the maps on your back
the concave of your mouth
the painting of your body

l‪eave me with the statue‬
‪the resemblance of you‬
‪for my heart feels safer‬
‪when i'm with you‬

‪the head might be mad‬
‪with your hand i must‬
‪fill the different cracks‬
‪with your everlasting love‬
