Crept around the corner,
Did the great feline mourner.

Sadness had tossed his mane,
Splashing water explains his pain.

Hostile territory his mind did span,
Ten hundred shot down, halted, gazing at a single man.
This one goes out to my favorite cat 'Spooky'

The grass, like green hair, stands up on end with
    anticipation,
rising through the snow that has fallen
    like dove feathers.
Leo will be coming soon.

The lion in the mist,
in the morning sun,
lurking.
His eyes see you
more than flesh,
and without sound.
He SEES you.
your soul and...
your intention.
And he sits
and he waits
and he waves his tail,
as you wander
through
his realm.
He knows the lost,
the feel,
the cry.
He had once been
the wanderer
just like you.

Here and suffocating
or gone and homesick
every shade of grass knows
that a sense of loss is certain

I know trust is made
through the bonds we pick
like you know when your mast sails
you're casting your sense of purpose

I'll let you at mapping your unknown seas
you'll leave me to swim in mine
ex marked the how we got here
after I lost my sense of time

You told me from the get go
back then it wasn't hard to hear
Baby I can't be enough for you to hold
while I'm lost in learning how to steer

I knew it wouldn't last when
you were unfamiliar with just lying naked
but sometimes a fox in the lion's den-
his outta place just feels so sacred.

(I had a lovely time.)

HE'S LIKE A LION
FIERCE, UNPREDICTABLE
ARROGANT, PROTECTIVE
OBSERVED AND STARED AT
BECAUSE HE'S MAJESTIC; BEAUTIFUL
BUT CAGED
HIS STRONG SPIRIT AND SELFLESS WILL IS RUINED
HE'S DIFFERENT NOW
SHORT-TEMPERED, UNSURE
THE KING OF THE JUNGLE IS GONE
REPLACED BY A ZOO'S "BEAST"
AN ATTRACTION

HE'S LIKE A LION
WITH WILD BLUE EYES AND A SUNKISSED MANE
BEAUTIFUL CURLS AND AN INTELLIGENT FACE
HIS EYES HELD A MILLION STORIES
TO BE TOLD IN THE DARKNESS
WHILE HE WATCHES OVER HIS LIONESS
ONLY HIMSELF, GOD, HIS BELOVED, AND THE STARS
FINALLY FEELING AT HOME, IN CHARGE

HE'S LIKE A LION
MAGNIFICENT, STRANGE
I'M GOING TO RELEASE HIM
BACK TO THE WILD
BEFORE HE DESTROYS HIMSELF
A BEAUTIFUL LION
TRAPPED
IN A CAGE
So in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, Clary always compares Jace to a lion. I made a connection to that with my "Jace", and here we go.

He has the type of eyes that made diamonds look dull,
Sharper than glass,
Lit by his beautiful lively flame.
Days are different now.
His eyes are no longer alive, but still as blue as the brightest sapphires,
The same color as mine,
But mine hold more gray, more sadness,
His not as often clouded by nostalgia and tears.

His wit is quick, making me grin in my saddest moments,
Admittedly, as sad as they could be with him there.
He was my rock, my guidance, my sentiment, my sanity,
He still is.
As much as he'd hope to disagree.

Discarded is an understatement.
If I had known, I wouldn't have been so angry.
Perhaps, at you.
At myself, the anguish doubled.
Stupid is an understatement.
I should have known,
And I apologize with every ounce in me.
I'd give up all I have to make you see.

His spirit is one of the strongest I've ever seen.
He was willing to take on the world with one hand tied behind his back.
Yet courage could only take a fearful young man so far,
There's so much to see,
But fear is a barrier,
A wall that had contained us both,
For months that felt like years.
We're tearing it down,
Brick by brick,
Progressing to the flawless lovers we once were.

Neither of us were lucky enough to possess the virtue of patience.
The pain tugging at our hearts pulls us together,
But like the opposite sides of a magnet,
We push each other away,
Obeying the laws of physics and common sense.

But no one said we had any sense.

His smile is better than any sunrise,
Better than long walks on beaches,
Or strolls in the Chicago streets.
Not a lick of arrogance,
Just honesty and grace.
When he was actually happy,
He radiated more than the sun.

He is the boy I fell in love with all those long months ago.
And I am still the girl he once knew.
But we are broken now,
With only each other to put ourselves back together.
But I do believe,
We have a chance,
To be who we were,
Take two broken hearts and become one again.

Sometimes, "I love you" just isn't enough.
Keep in mind his name isn't really Xavier.

Here I am happily satisfied with my love ultimately.
Neither I have chosen you, nor you have chosen me.
Destiny brought our hearts this close.
Thank you for accepting my proposal.
I do not roam this land as a nomad lion.
But unlike you, I am not awestruck by it.
I will say many, so many more love poems.
To you all of my poems will be dedicated.
Cackles will fill our household one day.
It may often be seen as love in nature.
Love's the most beautiful nature trait.
We can never be done apart as long as we breathe.
Twinkling in the sky we will talk even after we die.

Saying your beautiful name instils positive energy.
I am imagining our future being united in a home.

Our home is not just walls & furniture.

You will see, madam, you will observe.

King of the lions
Hai-ku-na-ma-ta-ta
Simba, what a *****.

I want to ruin sweetness
to turn him into the animal I know lives inside
to temper anger with restraint and lust with true desire
a transformation from pet to wild beast
I want to rule his passion not his heart
I want to command him
with the heat of desire and pain of longing
I want him to relinquish control and give in
I need to teach him what it means to be greedy and lustful
he will submit and reap the rewards
