Have you ever felt,
The world you live in,
Has been turned inside out?

Have you ever felt,
The time you were,
born into is the wrong time?

Have you ever felt,
that if you could travel back,
one hundred years,

You could change things,
With courage?

I do!

Dreams of an impossible past,
Dreams of a hungry child living in a magical place;

Dreaming as a child of fairy tales, fables and legends;
Dreaming of white tigers, dragon kings, fox girls, and foolish brides;

As a child, I never understood their meanings,
Yet listening to mother speak,
Filled me up with wondrous things,

Now, In the last four years,
These dreams of impossible things
have captured me again,

In my twilight years
with trembling hands,
I try to capture these dreams of an
impossible time,
From my fading memories
of impossible things.

The black, white and the Grey
Sounds like a Gothic cliche
Automatically people want to run away
When they see those colors being worn by a individual
They're definitely the opposite of subliminal
To judge them is stereotypical
If you ask me, we can arrange a miscible
To embrace morbid unity
To make a deal with the past
Where lives were ended by a speedy gun blast
The good, bad and the ugly
Was the old school Black, white and grey
Keep the faith in me
I bought a pack of colored pencils just for you
But I took out the black and grey colors
So you can shine with your artistry
Show it to the world and let it go down in history
You talented artist, you

What does black history month mean to me,

Slavery and freedom,

A race fighting for equality,

The rusted chains and blood stained whips,

Over 400 years of this abominable cycle,

Love thy neighbor the words silenced in the bible,

I have a dream,

The dream that came true,

But only through the spilt blood of the innocent,

Their families left singing the blues,

Black history month is a month of the forgotten truth,

How one man's greed became a nation's nightmare,

And how we as humans must dream of freedom and equality too.
Lauren Gorger Nov 2014
My heart is heavy today,
as I try to wrap my brain around how I can make a way,
so that we all forever say that we are equal.
This seems like a sequel to the darkened history that leaves our world blistering
with the burns that lurk and linger from the gun powder behind the finger on the trigger.
This is much bigger than me and I know it's hard to see
that we can all be free.
If I could bleed for you,
I would grieve so hard that the trees would rip from their roots.
I would stand in front of these guns that they shoot at you.
If I could clean the hearts that they constantly pollute,
I would give my breath through the symphony of the most beautiful flute.
My heart is heavy but it's been so already.
We are treading on thin ice and we grow much colder when it all breaks.
This place is so focused on ranks and defacing a nation,
burning every location where peace should be stationed.
If I could take away the pain of this acid rain raining down,
I would offer to you the only sane part of my brain
so you could see one day without rain.
I too, am in pain.
And we are the ones to blame.

One small decision
Has left us in terror
With flames in the sky and bullets going into our hearts
This city is falling apart
The reporters are speaking in shock
As they hear sounds of the booming glocks
The angry and selfish have caused chaos in the stores
Tears and sadness is apparent in their faces
Completely still
Stuck
Whispering HELP ME
HELP US
The police are standing in valiant honor
Trying to hold the pain
The horror
That has surcumbed to this beautiful city
They shout the taunts and words to guilt
While fake blood is being spillt
Bringing the racial issues into play
Much to unity's dismay
We will never surrender to violence unless provoked
Peaceful protestors are the lone light
In this raging battle
To save justice
They want body cameras in the future
But I think they should have them now
We must learn our lesson
This is another Rodney King disaster
The United States is never used to this
So we are scared
I pray for the innocents
They never asked for this
The peaceful protesters earn my respect
They emulate the right way to fight
They are willing to stay up all night
To stand for something
Not looting and breaking into buildings
Those are the examples of the demons within us
The peaceful ones are concerned about police militarization
But they need to survive too
Against the ones who misuse the Guy Fawkes Masks
They stand in fear
Shivering in the cold
As the Seasons Greetings sign hangs in the mist by the tear gas
When will this pass?
Help us find peace
And leave none deceased
STAND.
NO
MORE
GREED.
ONLY
SELF
DEFENSE.
PEACE.
In the wake of Ferguson's treacherous riots.

It’s as if History is repeating itself
Whites are killing blacks and getting away with ******
Blacks who are innocent are being killed
Because of the pigmentation of our skin
Or what we didn’t do that they said we did
We fought for Justice and equality and won once upon a time
But how long did we expect that to last
Now we are fighting back once again
It’s as if History is repeating itself
Who will hear our pleas for help, our pleas for justice
The same people we look to to help us
Are the one’s that are killing us
Where can we run, where can we hide
No one to save us, help us, or even shelter us from the blows
And we’re suppose to be the country of freedom
No we are the country That has given it’s people the freedom
To move with the invisible shackles weighing us down
So who do we turn to now
We turn to each other in unity and love

Dial my number to say hello
So I know you're stil thinking about me
I don't say this enough
I appreciate it
Those three words should go down in history
Take that other words
Dial my number tomorrow

Your beauty is in a time so far away that I can never reach,

I stand here in the February 17 snow
and raise a glass of wine to the past,

Your beauty is in a time so far away, that I can never reach,

Your smile is like blooming cherry blossoms in the springtime
Your eyes are as dark and beautiful as Tahitian pearls,

Your beauty is in a time so far away, that I can never reach,

My love for your beauty and charm will always last,

For more than one thousand years your name,
has not been forgotten,

And until the end of time,
My beautiful Queen Seondeok! of Silla,
Your beauty and charm will always last!
