as i wish
upon a star
this lonely
new year's eve
i won't be
going anywhere
and yet i will
not grieve
i only hope
the gift i wish
will surely
be received

i ask
providence
in heaven
for the blessings
of your youth
that you'd dream
just as a child
and those
dreams will become
TRUTH

that ink would flow
from wells so deep
that starlight's
in the quill
that the parchment's
as endless
as the measure
of your
will

and then
i would that
galaxies
scintillating
there
where they shook
wherever you look
in the
fireworks
glare

that each star
that winks above
as far as
you can see
will be a blessing given
and you'll know
it's from

ME

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

your friend

From one corner of my eye,
iridescent sparks of love
involuntarily fly,
ignite the dormant suns,
yearning for a dawn,
within your lovely eyes;
overwhelmed by joy, they
light up my inner skies.

Either by the curl of your lips,
that suggests a perfect fit
with mine, keep  waiting,
or with the sensual swing
of your curved alabaster hips,
that display gay abandon,
you set flames to fireworks,
that in my veins create tides
and set fire to my *****,
that won't easily be quelled for a
while: till that time we both decide.

In the darkness, extravaganza,
Flashing, blazing dramas,
Sky rockets and sparklers,
So spectacular,
Fireworks in my brain,
Illumination
Catherine wheels,
Is this for real?
The pyrotechnics,
Was it all a squib?
Crescendo
To diminuendo ....

I float down from clouds above
Another little death of love!
A harmless bit of nonsense. Feedback welcome.

He smells of fireworks.
Well, now that I think of it- not the explosions
His scent is of that burn that lingers-
I know,
I know that it is acrid,
That when he leaves I will taste it, while it burns my throat.
But isn't it exciting anyway?

Smoke clad skies
Begin to eerily darken
As I walk down the hill
That's seemingly never ending.

Travelling decades
In seconds as
I admire beautifully
Crafted houses.

Appreciating brickwork
Uniquely telling of times
In which period they joined
The awe inspiring collection.

I catch myself off guard
As I breathe in the
Bonfire fumigated air
And smile.

Fireworks being released
In the far off distance
Begin ricocheting
Throughout my body

Shooting ear to ear,
Head to toe
Screaming, exploding,
Then imploding in my mind

Painting stories way up high
As if they're being told
Soley for me,
My own private show...

The bright colours
Steal my breath away.
I find myself fighting off
The demons of my past as

Suddenly innocent
Childrens excited
Little voices begin
To catch my attention,

Dressed as ghosts and ghouls
Of long gone centuries
Setting off to collect their
All hallows eve treats.

No tricks are needed.
For the first time
in what seems like a lifetime,
I feel alive.

We were born from ashes and dust, and now I don't know if the fireworks are mine or hers to clean up.
So let the dead stay dead. Let us stay what we are. Let us lie, and not rise.
Because we've all seen what becomes of innocence, and purity. We've experienced it firsthand.

Please, don't let us, be dragged to the wind.

Mayfire strikes out, a fever like no other.
Fireworks sparkle and crackle and boom across the sky.
Cackling and burning with laughter,
They taunt and they don't forgive.
Explosive and wild and colorful,
Yet after their spark is gone, there is nothing but a null,
A small, infinitesimal void.
But they knew what they were.
They lived to the fullest, for their life is so short.
They know the meaning of life like no other.
Fireworks are bolder.
They aren't afraid to show their true selves.
They aren't afraid to show their true colors,
In their last moments.
Fireworks are spectacular bursts
Of burning truths.
Fireworks and life-
boy aren't they similar?
People spend a **** ton of money on fireworks,
the week of the 4th.
But if you really think about it,
life is the same way.
In life,
we spend money to make ourselves excited to live,
we eat a crap ton of food-
because hello, we ARE American's for Christ's sake.
But at the end of the night,
the fireworks blow up and die
until you set up the others.
And that's just like life...
That's where it is most similar
because you pump yourself full of food,
and medication, and water...
but in the end, you're just gonna die.
But
as we live our lives,
we are as beautiful and loud
as the fireworks above.
Because our lives are the most beautiful
thing to ever walk this very Earth.
Fireworks and life-
both beautiful AND destructive.

I'm good.

I’m in a good place.
Friends the next room over,
a few streets down.
Living a life with
those I love all around.

Listening to their grace,
imagining you in this space.
I could almost burn.

I know you didn’t choose your face,
though it makes this a difficult race.
Your kisses I can’t unlearn.

Bring the flood.
The hours, days, months, years,
the unquantifiable tears.
Squeezing in self-discourse when I can,
logic and hope crammed between fears.

Another dud.
A grand plan disguised
as a firecracker, prized,
one promising an explosion,
lightning bolts etched on the sides.

Though there was never a detonation.
You cut the fuse short
or maybe I never lit it.
Maybe I’m like Rogue,
absorbed that firework’s nature
and can’t quit it

My veins are gunpowder.
My heart the wick.
Thoughts of you the flame
and I’m praying they don’t stick.

My mind is racing with water
in an old fashioned wood bucket,
assembly line style carrying reason.
Though my worst fears I can hardly stomach.

I’m working my synapses as fast as they’ll churn,
but like every western movie ever filmed

the water gets here too late.

I stand watching myself burn.

My heart was a firecracker
CRACKLE!!!
And you had lit my fuse
ZWINNGG!!!
Foolishly, I stepped too close to the sparks
KABOOM!!!
And then I was blown apart by your flame
