The sky is stained
with wine,
as lazy clouds
move hungover
towards the sun.

Choices.
So many options.
When can't we just stay still?
Life is so packed that we start to forget,
Stop and just swallow this pill.
You can use distractions all your life,
Drink yourself to death,
Read every book, watch every film,
But what will you have left?

Emotions are all that really count,
But you're too scared to feel.
Your mind is closed off an unhealthy amount,
Maybe it's time to get real.

the words that slip
off of your lips,
fill my curiosity to the rim.

It starts with only a sip
Swish
Swallow
Turns to a chug
Shot is soon to follow

Next have a drink
What damage could one do?
First wasn't bad
Why not two?

A beer switches to six-packs
Twelve-pack to a keg
Before you know
You are on your last leg

A glass of wine daily is fine
Til glass grows into a bottle
Coasting gently one second
Next speeding wide-open
Scared
Full-throttle

What begins as play and fun
Soon escalates to live-or-die
Stops being casual
You partake without knowing why

The line between both are fuzzy
Tipping point never clear
Problem is you cannot see it
After you approach near

Once you have crossed there's no going back
Life becomes a sinking ship
Pause a minute and ask yourself
"Is it worth the cost?"
Before choosing to take that "harmless" sip
I got a typewriter for my birthday and this is the first poem I wrote using it

Hit & run..
It only takes one to be over the limit.

to you, I am a fine wine
sweet, silky, at times aggressive
housed in glass, i'm delicate
to be enjoyed on occasion

by my neck, I wish you'd grab
hold me roughly without a care
take all of me selfishly
until nary a drop is left

for you are water to me
cool, calm, and most refreshing
constantly i thirst for you
to drown me in waves of pleasure

i kneel at the water's edge
wishing to see that calmness break
to feel the ripples of want
overtake and overwhelm me
take me, drink me

I'll look at a kid girl across the bar
and will fall in love with her -

what's that
in her eyes
*******
what's that? -

at that moment

there is a new order in the printer

and I have to make a drink

You're a demise.

You don't know that. You're syrup that means so much.

I don't love you,

As a matter of fact I really ******* hate you,

but I need you.

That's right. I need you.
I'm a coward without you. I depend on you.

One day I won't. I hope one day I won't. But until then, I'm at your beck and call.

Death knocking on the door,
No need to pour any more,
I've had enough drink of life.
Let the bar shut to close,
There is no remorse,
We had a fun night.
