There was a war, armed civilians dressed for disaster.

I was the prey. looking at the competition preparing myself for the attack. I watched everyone drool as my scent traveled beneath their nose.

-They’re ready for me; clawing and growling at me, pacing back and forth as they plan their first move.
But, I’m the predator, I came for them.
And I’m ready, I’m prepared to take on anyone and anything.
I’ll fight for myself. I’ll fight anybody for myself.
A monster, day and night I’m a vicious animal.-
There was once a war,
them versus me.
What were we fighting for?
Liberty was the answer, but respect was the trophy.
In the jungle we are all alone,
In the jungle it’s you … or me.
It is the kingdom of salvation, of identity and fear.
What are we afraid of?
an intimate dance with the devil and the person I am to be;
the predator ..or the prey,
or myself.
There was a war, between who I am, who I was and who I will be.
I was prepared for battle,
armed and dangerous.
Killing the competition, survival of the fittest ..and it was all for my own self-defense.

Red is blood and found in fire
but it's also passion
a burning desire.
See Red isn't always so bad:
those flowers in the light
reminding of better days we've had.
Petals may begin to fall
with time and wear,
but this happens to us all.
Time also brings forth a spring
the rain clearing and cleansing,
repairing everything.
I know things seem crazy and queer,
but I promise your spring will come,
and through it all I'm always here.
You're afraid of what's real,
and trying to cope as best you can,
believe me, I understand how you feel
Employing thorns as your defense,
you damage your mind fighting for control
as you force everyone to keep their distance.
Just promise not to push me away
when you throw everyone out;
let me be the one to help you stay.

As silence sets in your heart
You are aware of the feelings
And the mind becomes agile
The calming effect of silence
Will help to rearrange beliefs
Silence is the subconscious
Speaks louder than words
It is built on a solid foundation
Firm against sinister forces
Silence is a bundle of energy
It withstands barrage of baloney
Unwavering support of silence
Cocoons the soul in happiness
Silence is retaliation
Of the soul which is strong
Only the strong can wield silence
To make an emphatic statement
Silence is not absence of action
Words are a spent force
When it holds no meaning
Some, hiding behind its guile
Douse the ominous intentions
With silence as your defense
Silence is deafening to a noisy world

An army base to protect
It’s the United States being its elect
A soldier with a gun
Three dead being among
A senseless dispute
The whole analysis just doesn’t compute
The soldiers are trained with honor
Bullets have no names
Lives loss being a shame
One soldier is the blame
Fort Hood being on edge
As a soldier it should be a privilege
A Soldier too Soldier salute
You’re in the army now as a tut
Death should not be among your Conrad’s on a base
This is just an incomprehensible waste
My heart goes out to the families to remember
A good night’s sleep, but will the families be able to slumber?
Fort Hood must stride to move on
The Soldiers need a reality check to get along
The army is to whom you serve
It’s respect in what every Soldier deserves
Fort Hood is where it stood
The thinking on the notion of could
A promised heart and a continuing mind
This is something I want all Soldiers to keep in mine.
PROTECT WHERE YOU ARE AND IT WILL TAKE YOU FAR

I was inspired by the many cynical minds
from yesterday and behind,
by countless events of outrage
that poisoned and amazed
the universe that once censured my kind.
But I am not backing down
for in the years to come, you'll see me rise
not away from everyone's judgmental eyes
but with fiery flash, I'll have to burn your pride
and jest the world with my old despicable style.
Pardon my style, but my words and emotions won't cease to rhyme.
