I sit in this half darkened room listening to the clocks tick and tock. Where would I like to be? Away from here, honestly. Time is but an essence and I'm sorry. It probably felt like this room. Where your darkest thoughts crept silently in the shadows and all you could hear was that clock that ticked words of remark, down to the color of your skin. The words that weren't even mine but they still shut you in. And they shut me out at the worst time of all. But time is an essence, master of all. If never fails to watch me fall. We watch the clock from opposite sides of the door and listen to the quiet that we've both succumbed to. A door I wish I could easily step through. But I'll lay here in wait and sleep now and then, till it decides to open again. Until then, I'll listen and talk to the ghost of the girl who lit the world on fire and wishes she was anywhere but here.
I literally listened to a clock while writing this.

Can you hear that?
Time passing
Without a care?

Tick
Tock
Tick
Tock

Can you feel that?
Your time,
That's slowly running out?

Tick
Tock
Tick
Tock

Can you see that?
How long it's been
Since they texted back?

Tick
Tock
Tick
Tock

Have you felt this?
Clocks slowly
Counting your days
Hours
Minutes
Seconds

Till you're gone
Listen to them

Tick
Tock
Tick
Tock

Time is short
Make the most of it

tick tock
just staring at the clock
one hand swings by the other
but time doesn't go by
everything stops
everything freezes
nothing moves
as long as your mind is stuck
stuck in its ways
of looking at the clock
waiting for the next minute of your life to go by
waiting for time to progress
just
waiting

Sitting in the silence,
It was too loud to bare,
Nobody talking everyone wanting to get the right answer.
A little deep thought, a little carried away i became.

Just like the clock ticking,
There was the tap dripping,
The sound getting deep into my head,
It reminded me of the times i leaned on your chest listening to your heart bounding.

But quickly was my mind drawn back to class,
And the sound shattered like broken glass.
A climps at the tap across the room,
I saw your tears shoting out like bullets,
And i remembered how much everyone deserves a second chance.

Time is as real as we make it
out to be in our minds
        time seems to be a
           metaphor for a
              controller
               *******
             the life out
        what is time really
     you're late, you're early
the sand is running out quickly
the clock is sneakily ticking midnight

Its circular face mocks and laughs
at me with that numerical circumference.

Red and black hands reach out and
grab me tight, leaving bruises on my psyche.

I'm helplessly cast deep into my past
where time flows like molasses.

Back when the clocks
took their time
counting down my life
and rotting my mind.

Back when they were slow
and I just couldn't wait to grow
up.

Can you here it
The ticks on the clock
Making the noise
Indicating time is drifting away
You can't catch this clock
Because its too late
Now the Reaper of Death
Is waiting for you at the gate.
Samuel Evan May 2015
Open the door, slowly and quietly.
Reach in, take her small, frail body.
Hold her close, she won't be small for long.
It was a long drive,
She must have drifted off to sleep.

Roll up your sleeve, gently and methodically.
Reach down, take your pen and begin.
Draw carefully now, these require care.
This butterfly needs form,
Form that you can give it.

Sit down to the piano, solemnly and sad.
Reach out, feel the keys cold surface.
Play slowly now, you might betray yourself.
A sad song is only sad
When the pianist feels it too.

Take a seat. Waiting and waiting.
Reach towards the clock.
Only time will tell when the sun comes up.
It's hard to know,
When you can't find a window.

But don't worry.
The sun rises and falls each day,
Whether you're there or not.
So today,
I'm sure it's quite excited.
To rise on you.
Eh.... Not much to say.
