Silence echoes round her
Making her tinnitus audible.
It smacked at walls,
A flat,
B sharp.
Chiming.
Chiming.
The little girl next door had a throat infection.
She was in the choir,
Singing for the night.

What I was seeing..
Was a place I knew all to well..
It was my room..
But what I am about to describe to you was something beyond that..
You see when I put on this strange suit I could view things in their true state..
The beautiful chimes and tones I am hearing are a song I often listen to..
But the difference is that I am hearing it at 800x its natural speed..
It is beyond amazing..
The mixture of the slow music is being mixed in with how I see light filling a room..
I could see the rays of light slowly push away the darkness..
The light then seems to sit in place where the darkness once was..
Its as if I could see the darkness trying to push back but to no avail..
The light wins every time..
Only when light leaves is when darkness can take over..
I then take the strange suit off and everything returns back to normal..
Tomorrow I will go to the forest and put it on..
The God suit...

There was once a field.
I would sit and lay on that field.
I would stay there all day, for it was ours.
Our only field.

I loved to listen to the wind chimes out there,
I could barely make them out,
but I could feel you were already about
Now I go back to that indigenous place,
To find you there to see you once more.
Now I have to be back to recover my heart,

*I will do that once more, for it is my part.

It is the end of times
Sound of fate in the chimes
Up rises the living dead
Filling thoughts full of dread
Creepily moving, ominous woe
Sea of the departed, hobbling slow
Gnarled teeth, eating flesh
Craving blood warm and fresh
Waves of corpses, a lifeless tsunami
Lookout world, here comes the zombies!

the clock chimes
but no one counts
the days move at will
forward, backward
days stand still
the ticking of seconds
lost in the minutia
of the everyday
endless mind chatter
and negative self-talk
heart in a vacuum of speculation
what if -
coulda, shoulda, woulda
WILL NOT
DO NOT
STAY IN THIS PLACE
strain to listen
can you hear it
it's there
in the undercurrent of life
lost beyond yourself
tick tock
a shadow of a sound
tick tock
time never stops
tick tock
feel the minutes turn to days
a sense of time thrown away
on nothing
it's easy
so much easier
to wonder
what if -
why me -
than to take a deep breath
and realize
the world does not revolve
around a solitary soul
and no one is ever
the reason someone makes a choice
choices are made of free will
or they aren't choices at all
good or bad
tick tock
tick tock
tick tock
can you feel it
tick tock
tick tock
tick tock
it's the minutes of life
left behind
in a cloud of never was
tick tock
the clock chimes
but no one counts
the days move at will
forward, backward
days stand still

I want a love, a love who adores me
A love who believes I am the grandest love there will ever be
I need a love to believe in me
Even in slights and not adhere to bigotry of family or loss of life
Mischief dies, true love denies, lost is failure of evil tides
Fortune persists for love chimes

The wind is whistling through my cracked windows and I'm trying to sing along because I think it might be the song you wrote for me. But now I can't keep up and I'm falling behind because the song was too much, too soon and I wanted it to be longer. I'm completely lost in the music now because I am just a pair of wind chimes among the thousands of others on the back porches of the lovers you've had. You were the wind and I was just simply one more pair of chimes singing your song.
Shannon Jeffery May 2014
It's time to enter a sleepless mind
The cogs and wheels spin and grind
I hear the whistles and the chimes

My head racing faster than a v8
Thoughts are larger than a U.S state
For my sleep I am ever so late

Clocks in my head, tick tocking
Side to side my head rocking
Chains pulling of the ship docking

Inside a war is going
Bullets and missiles a throwing
Explosions is all, lost for all knowing

Eternity lost in void of thought
Reminiscing on all I was taught
Consistent darkness you haunt

A sleepless mind is what I see
It is all I know how to be
So if don't you mind, come join me
