On the planet where I live
gambling and narcissism
are recognized for the diseases they are

racism and homophobia
that's just people being people

Here
having a conversation with some is battle
mental exhibition bouts with jaw juggernauts
most only listen for their position to pounce
Never hearing a thing

favors and helping hands
well laid traps and plans sewing deeply rooted weeds
intended to bind over time
your worth is assessed by how much value you can acquire for other

animals are measured greater than people
it makes sense
People have yet to meet or even be human

Here
I'm not the type of Blackman you see on TV

six feet tall maybe taller over three hundred pounds
a well-read autodidact master of many things

On the planet where I live
that is considered a threat

Here
the goal is to populate Mars
before the pollution on Earth becomes inhospitable
to the people of Earth
after all
Mars is ours for the taking

Here
you're supposed to mow your neighbor's lawn
while your back yard is overgrown
while your kitchen burns down

On the planet where I live
all of this is common knowledge
some say sense
It's spoken of and considered
immoral and deplorable

Here
if you exist in any different or other way
you're labeled
one of the crazies and shunned
you’re supposed to know its wrong
not admit to it

Exclusively VIP

I don’t need a special thing
Just for me
Just because

Yes
I am a unique and wonderful creature

Yes
I can do many things most can’t

Yes
Some times
Most times
I’m the only one

We all possess god given abilities
Natural unlearned talents

the cheetah naturally being seven steps ahead of its prey
the sun issuing forth heat and light

Tell me

When you look across the hunting ground
do you not see the pack of hyena

When you gaze upon the night sky
Hypnotized by the twinkling stars

Do you see only one

i was never a fan of brown eyes
they never appealed to me
perhaps it's because the first boy i ever gave my heart to
had eyes as brown as pure cacao
and he shattered my heart like a windowpane

or because a man with eyes brown, flecked with gold
hit me like a punching bag one night after the sun went down

but it wasn't until you and i were laying inches apart from each other
on my bed that thursday morning
post coitus
that i noticed your eyes were the color of the sweetest chocolate
a dark ale i wanted to devour
i realized then that perhaps brown is my favorite color after all
a little short snippet.

I saw flowers sprout from your chest
every time we spoke
and just from the way
your brown skin glistened
I knew that the sun favored
you the most.

all for you Jun 2015
the boy with the dark brown eyes sat in front of me in science. I caught him turning back and looking at me as I took notes. he smiled at me when I looked up at him. he asked for my number that day.

the boy with the dark brown eyes was late for science. he sat down and didn't say anything. he never turned around to talk to me. I called him that night to see if everything was okay. he never answered.

the boy with the dark brown eyes never showed up to science. the teacher broke it to us. he tried to **** himself the night before and was in the hospital. I didn't take notes. i couldn't take my eyes off his vacant seat. I called his number that night hoping he would answer. I sobbed when I heard his voice on his voicemail.

the boy with the dark brown eyes came back to science. he turned back to me and smiled. the first time i had seen him smile in months. I called his number that night, and he answered. we talked all night, and we shared our deepest fears and greatest loves. he said his greatest love was me.

the boy with the dark brown eyes was early to science today. he turned around and called me beautiful. I blushed when he asked me on a date. that night he called me and thanked me for saving him. when really, he was the one that saved me.

I looked you in the eye
I listened on your rants
I heard it when you sigh
I love it when you smile

You've never seen me once
No. It's not a lie
But then again...
I looked you in the eye

I have seen him
inside and out
Scanning every being around him,
pacing nervously and cracking a joke to lighten the mood.
But he posseses fire
Lifting him upwards
He can tear the pages of heaven
and I have seen his eyes,
filled with desire,
they are brown with a streak of fire
Not a poem
