September 24, I sat in the passenger seat of your silver BMW as we talked about Oprah, and you pretended not to know the song “ Red Solo Cup.”
Two strangers conversed as if they were old friends catching up. You placed your hand on my knee, and without skipping a beat I rested mine on yours.
When we parked I kept talking hoping it would calm the butterflies in my stomach, but it was too late you lifted my chin with your curled index finger and placed your lips on mine.
The butterflies exploded sending an electrifying shock throughout my body. My  brain was on fire, as my lips melted into yours. You pulled away with a smile While I examined your eyes, to know if you had felt it too.

I, no we, we stand here, here in this place, on this ground, we stand. Here, where The Great and Grand have stood, we stand.

Their Spirits from above, and here cover us, will bless and guide us and Our Generations for we are their generations.

Their greatness, their courage, their prayers abide here and we have no fear, we are secure in them.

A merging of lines, we are. Many cords make us strong and we, yes, we are here.

I look to my right and I see my rock she who holds my heart and holds me secure, the one without whom I would not be here. I look forward smiling confident I, no, WE are here.

Accept change
with open arms,
I promise you
that the road is
not that bumpy
and that you
will be just alright
Spread a kind song,
Unwind the dream,
Fall new on your veil.

Spread a soothing cold,
Twist the imaginary,
Surrender to the obscure burning.

I don’t need your permission to love

I don’t need your permission to think

I don’t need your permission to fight what’s best for me.

I don’t need your permission to heal
what you can not see.

I am going to blossom into a warrior
& shine like never before.

I will learn from my mistakes,
without your stares & your doubts.
Here’s to the society that thinks that they can control us and stop us from loving who we love, from thinking freely, from doing what we’re passionate about, from healing from our past, and thinking we can not change from our mistakes.
