I Am The Witch
Rhea May 2017
I am a witch
I cast spells
I command magic
My craft is humble
And yet
And yet
I've been told to burn
I am peaceful
I wish no harm
I've seen too much hurt
But now
But now
I will control the ocean
I will destroy the moon
I will harness the wind
I will crush the mountains
Because
Because
They cannot respect
They do not understand
I will refuse to look down
When I am hugged by flames

Dead and Gone
Rhea May 2017
Dead is dead
And gone is gone
You liked her
Because she turned
Your sadness
Into poetry
And you were so
Wrapped up in your mind
You never saw into hers
And now she is dead
And dead is dead
And now she is gone
And gone is gone

I Will Love You
Rhea May 2017
In the morning light,
If you’re not there,
The bed will be cold and depressed;
The coffee *** will sit silent,
The morning news will drone on.
And still, I will love you.
In the morning light,
If you’re not there,
The seas will drain,
And I will still drown in them.
The sky will collapse under its own weight,
And still, I will love you.

Demons
Rhea May 2017
We all love the idea of evil
The aesthetic of darkness
But when the demons take over your body
Don’t give them your soul
Because they won’t stop there
They’ll take your mind and take your whole life
And they’ll make you bow to your reflection
And say
Thank you
And leave your shell with a piece of them left behind
And one day you wonder
Where all this blood came from
The knife in your hand steps back from the scene
And your skin begins to feel what the knife took in its hunger
And you shake
And they give you pills to forget
But still you shake
And soon it’s not the pills that put you to sleep every night
But the promise of one day ending the pain

Injustice
Rhea May 2017
When hell's demons took over the politicians
Nobody noticed
When black mothers cried for their children
Nobody heard
When we cried out for justice
Nobody listened
When  we were desperate for a change
Nobody provided
When the blind man asked for a penny
Nobody granted
We are the ones out for blood
And yours will do

Broken Mirror
Rhea May 2017
I am a broken mirror
I was broken years ago
No one has swept me up
I’m still scattered on the floor
I still make scars
That no one will see
I still see my scared reflection
Yelling to stop the breaking

Vices
Rhea May 2017
How many pills?
One to help
Two to drown
Three to numb
Ten to ****
How many shots?
One to calm
Two to soothe
Three to daze
Twenty to ****
How many cuts?
One to bleed
Two to free
Three to save
Thirty to ****

Vampire
Rhea Jun 2017
You’re a vampire;
But not for blood, no.
You take the air from my lungs,
And use it to keep you going.
And I never thought you would take it all,
But here I am with nothing,
And there you are with everything.

Little Girl, Little Boy
Rhea Jun 2017
Little girl,
Who hurt you so,
That this bed is now empty,
Why did you take yourself,
So far away from our love?

Little boy,
Why do you hurt so,
That a blade is your only friend,
And a ghost lives inside you?
Please come back to our love.

You Cut Me
Rhea May 2017
You cut out my heart,
Still beating.
You cut out my lungs,
Still breathing.
You cut out my brain,
Still thinking.
You cut out my eyes,
Still watching.
You cut out my tongue,
Still speaking.
You cut out my soul,
Still searching.
You cut me out of myself,
Still loving you.

Tired of it
Rhea Jan 2018
Misery sleeps with me
Confusion holds my hand
Depression spoon feeds me
Exhaustion builds my lonely land
I'm the sole heir
With anxiety holding my faith
In fragile fingers bound to break

Am I?
Rhea Jun 2017
Am I going toward you or away from you?
Will I see you in this life?
Will I see you in the next one?
Or is this the end?
Maybe I’ll see you someday,
But who will we be by then?
Will you still love me?
Will I still love you?
I hate this not knowing.
I hate this missing you.

A Haunting
Rhea May 2017
Next time you’re alone
Watch over your shoulder
I’m hovering, haunting you
When you killed the best of me,
I swore to **** all of you
Tick tock, tick tock
Here I come
Time is running out
Save yourself
Before the clock strikes one
Tick tock, tick tock
Your time is up
Get down and pray
For your miserable soul

Secrets
Rhea May 2017
From the very beginning
I was led by a string
He meant for me to break
My bones begin to ache
I laid my weary head down
But he took it as a bow
Now I tell anyone who will listen
How he used my blood for ink in his pen
And how the monsters under my bed
Are his secrets that I hid

Oh, Love.
Rhea Jun 2017
What’s on your pretty, pretty mind?
I should know but I’ve become blind.
If I look, what will I find?
Our feelings used to be intertwined.
I’m here through it all,
When you feel big or small.
Your tears are rainfall;
I hear them from down the hall.

Who Are You?
Rhea Jun 2017
When all your demons are dead,
Who are you?
When all your wrongs are righted,
Who are you?
When all your words are taken back,
Who are you?
When all your candles are lighted,
Who are you?
When all your enemies are defeated,
Who are you?
And who am I?

Hell and Heaven
Rhea May 2017
Hell is full of the misunderstood
Innocent souls who tried to do good
Twisted into something dark
Their wrath becomes a tangible mark
Who is to help them,
When they’re already condemned?
Is there someone to help you?
What can anyone do?
Haven is full of the ****-up’s
They got in by the poison in your cup
Who is to oppose them,
When they know of your own sin?
Where can you go?
That won’t cost your soul?

Help
Rhea Jan 2018
I fear for those to whom I'm lying
Because of their pain or because of mine
Truth is I'm constantly aching
From my own bones I'm breaking
I feel best when I'm in pain
Best in this bed I'm laying
I need a distraction
Other than this misery I'm in
My hand falls to my side
And another piece of me dies
I've found that people don't want to hear my cries for help
I've learned it's better to keep them to myself

I, I, I.
Rhea Jan 2018
I may smile when you look at me
I may laugh when you joke for me
But **** I'm dead inside
To hell if I say I'm fine
Everything hurts
It's worse than words
My best friend is the devil
He shows me every evil
He says it's ok for me to bleed
But as long as they never see
I never get any sleep
Thoughts are running too deep
I don't respect my body anymore
What the **** is it good for
I can feel my bones move beneath my skin
What will it take to be whole again

The Old
Rhea Oct 2017
Inside the meaning of drought,
The old waters shimmer.
Inside the meaning of death,
The old poets turn in their graves.
Inside the meaning of exile,
The old gods pace in their prisons.

Truth Be Told
Rhea Jun 2017
You start fires just to see,
How badly they will burn me.
You start fights just to see,
The color that I will bleed.
The day you left me crying on the floor
Was the day I couldn't take it anymore
I decided  was done
And finally, my life had begun

End Your Torture
Rhea May 2017
I am a musician;
I can play you like a guitar.
I’m on a mission,
To break you apart.
The broken, ****** bottle falls from my hand;
A guitar pick hangs from my neck.
Maybe if you’d been more of a man,
I wouldn’t be such a wreck.
The room is quiet now,
You’re almost in Death’s hand.
I make my silent vow,
That when I bury you in this land,
You’ll stop haunting me;
And I’m deaf to your pleas.

Beautiful when she’s crying
Hold onto every tear

Goodbye, Friend.
Rhea Jan 2018
Where did you go friend?
What did you believe in?
Are you where you wanted to be?
Is it your ghost that I see?
The silent words on my breath,
Are whispers of a tragic death.

Been
Rhea Jun 2017
I’ve been here through the thunder
And the tears that cut through skin
Like freezing rain
And sometimes her laughs
Sound like sobs
And I’m not good enough
To tell the difference
