When there's so much

an earthquake of beats
will beat life into the lifeless
and love.. oh love
will melt the
frost off

chest
and
the
dust
off
your
smile

The moment of truth
lies in the second
you end your poem
with an exhale
and you look
up

We fall in love
like we fall for
dessert
quickly
and
irrationally

Picking hearts
is like picking fruits
we like them, ripe
supple and oh so sweet

I never knew
what it felt like
being loved
the way I love
until
I fell
for myself
through
the looking glass

When you have nothing to lose
that's when your
guards fall like November leaves
and you're as naked as Eve's innocence
in the face of every thing and anything

If I see it
then it is

If I hear it
then it is

If I taste it
then it is

If I read it
then it's
a different
story
