I wonder what secret
The trees whisper to the breeze?
Do the birds hear that secret
And announce it in their song?

Does the wind hold it
And drop it in the seas?
Does the sea speak it out
And share it with the stars?

Do the heavens then resound
With the secret of the trees?

And the clouds,
Oh yes! Those clouds
Blue, black and grey
Is that why come rushing?

Across the seas to caress
With gentle rain the trees
And whisper,
"Heaven knows your heart,
There are no secrets from God."

The trees smile and sway
Fulfilled and complete in love.

If i could will my heart to stop
and breathe a final breath
i'd sit beneath an old oak tree
and trade my life for death

The pain in life of losing you
is more than i can bear
how can a man be happy when
his better half's not there

Life's meaning's gone when i lost you
no purpose can i find
for you were but the reason i
loved life and cherished time

i cannot will my heart to stop
i'm waiting for the sign
from God to show His mercy to
unite us one more time
I wrote this after my wife, Charlene (Char), passed away a few months ago. My world was and is destroyed. Take advantage of pain and turn it into beauty.

God is my sun
Dissipating the clouds.
No dark is too great
That his love can’t penetrate;
His rays shine through.
And no gloom can loom
Where God beams.

When Jesus is performing miracles
He often says “Have faith” “Your faith has saved you”
Do we believe that this is really true?
Do we believe that Jesus has the power
To cure our every ill?
Even if we aren’t healed, do we trust Him still?
Have faith that God is close
Have faith that He is listening
Have faith and be persistent
Pray always without relent
Have faith, my child do not fear
In time, all will be made clear
If we have true faith, mountains can be moved
Waters can part, God’s presence is proved
Not all will move mountains or turn sea into dry land,
But all will see the power of taking Jesus’ hand.
Have faith that where you are
Is where you’re supposed to be
Have faith and shine like a star
Bearing light for all to see

it goes something like this:

(god the maker. jesus the carpenter. holy spirit the healer.)

god wills your atoms into existence,
the crashing echoes of collapsing stars
mapping the pulse of the newborn universe.

pockets of time push through black holes,
ordained to swallow the dark by a being
bathed in holiness.

the heavens are pinned into place on a
twinkling backdrop of fire, planet-making
material spread like a celestial blueprint.

“this is where my most beloved will live,” god
says, mouthless but firm, words dripping with
the first vestiges of life.

the angels crowd the first life form, shouting a collection of
“hosanna on the highest” and “glory, glory, glory,”
singing on wings the size of galaxies.

later, when the passage of time leads to
two-legged mammals, when humanity is breathed from dirt,
and then from rib, the angels are silent with awe.

god, jesus, the holy spirit, sees the world and it is good.
god, jesus, the holy spirit, sees humanity and it is good.
god, jesus, the holy spirit, sees you and it is good.
christmas always makes me nostalgic

Without you, God, I am nothing.
Music without a conductor.
With you, God, we’re everything.
A beautiful symphony.

Guess what?
Ive met my purpose,
My head's up and I've blessed the curses.
Last thing I wanna do is start blasphemin
Truth on the surface
Cause you're my Lord, Jesus, now I'm believing you.
And I'm worthless ...

I watched you carry your cross and blessed behold ya
A child was born in Bethlehem and now it's finished, on the road in Golgotha.
A scourge taken, striped with blood and denied your Haven.
They spit on you... And you felt God forsaken.
But You asked and your father forgave them

Your mother watched as they tortured you.
Your breathing stopped just short of your fortitude
left you atop The cross, with a sordid view
Stripped of your clothing they were doubled and quartered too.
Gambled upon like the souls of subtle who murdered you.

It's your servitude.

the storm shakes my bones,
i see it from afar,
but your calm voice keeps me safe,
for i know who you are.
you tuck me into your strong arms,
but you're as distant as a star.

Shall I not enjoy life's generous gift,
Bouquets of roses and of birds and trees,
When in God's glory does my spirit lift,
To hear the quiet music in the breeze?
Should not my soul linger in the stillness,
And strain to hear Him whisper in my ear,
Of promises and comforts and kindness,
Of all these things so wonderful to hear?
My heart longs to be there in His presence,
To sing His praises so long as I live.
My mind and soul meet in coalescence,
To give the Father all that I can give.
He rules with love and kindness unsurpassed,
'Till, called home, we return to Him at last.
Originally written for a high school poetry assignment.  I just liked the way it turned out, so here we are.

Heart wallows,
wears, to the bone,
tired.

sagged lungs

and my soul no longer stirs
no "stillness" in peace,
but in numbness

and the bottom tastes like nothing,
it's all a great nothing.

yet I know,
weary arm can hold
can raise itself to the end of the tunnel

I know I'll be okay.
Your promise waits.

heart, air balloon,
the warmth of your presence,
fills me, raises me.

I am not defined
by the "i love yous" I never got.
or the ones that were taken away,
or the ones that were never meant.

I am not these mistakes,
not these storms,

I'm not the bent palm tree
the debris
of the hurricane.

But I am what I am,
a daughter, a child,
broken, bruised, beaten,
but not defeated,
alive.

I am here.
I am okay.
I am with You.

I will rise, I will not fall,
not any further.

And if I do,
your hands, Father,
hold

my wallowing heart,
my weariness.

I am not defeated,
though I am beaten.

You will raise me still,
your hands will hold,
this I trust, Lord.

Your hands will hold.
God has me, even in my lowest (and hey, I think I've got a new record). But in Him there is hope, always.
