"A man is a wolf to another man",
What utter nonsense! What a silly thing to say!
I see no wolf-like qualities in the hearts of men,
No shy, retiring qualities, or unerring loyalty,
And certainly haven't noticed that men ****
Only when absolutely necessary for survival.

Perhaps it is I who am being foolish though?
As I stare deep into the noble eyes of the wolf
And see no hint of malice, or greed,
Or religious and political ideologies,
Or desire for such petty things as man wants.

Yes, indeed! Surely the fault lies with me,
For I am human, and can't begin to understand
Such simple things that those wild beasts can
Seem to so effortlessly comprehend- compassion,
Love, respect, and sense of unity.

Men are not wolves in the eyes of other men. No,
It doesn't describe the potentially ruthless way
We act upon meeting a stranger of our own species.
I wish such accurate statements as this held sway;
Men are like men to other men- **** homini ****
Since we've proof that men will oft rip men to pieces.
"They mean that men act like men towards other men, and the worse they are the more they think they’d really like being wolves! Humans hate werewolves because they see the wolf in us, but wolves hate us because they see the human inside – and I don’t blame them!" - Terry Pratchett
"can you blame me?"
he asked
as he grabbed his coat
and slipped out the door.
"no,"
she said to the empty room.
"i know you want her love
as badly
as i want yours."
I'm reaching for stars
With my head in the sand
And I'm swimming in currents
While I'm standing on land
If you're hearing this now
And you think I'm confused
Then it's pretty apparent
You've never been used

Tracing lines on the pavement
Of this bustling town
And he only sound that I hear
Is my soul screaming out
Now I'm stuck here in a place
Where no one else cares
So I'm launching my rocket
And blowing up in mid-air

You say you're a dreamer
At least that's what I heard
From the haze in your eyes
That's as good as your word
Please wake up, my dear
Don't be playing with knives
If you call yourself a dreamer
You'll be sleeping all your life
"It's funny how the words we never say
Can turn into the only thoughts we know"

"Restless Dream" - Jack's Mannequin
She doesn't want to hide behind
That screen of lies.
She doesn't want to have to this time.

She doesn't want to change your mind;
You're gone, she's fine.
She doesn't want to go back this time.

And, no, She doesn't want to hold your hand
You're cold, *******.
She doesn't want to say this again.

She doesn't want to accept she's ******
Will she if she can?
She doesn't want to lose it over a man.

She's got pride
It's hard to hide
But you're wise
Know her disguise
Changed her mind
Called her "mine"
Now she'll cry
Because of lies
But you're blind
You don't mind

But, no, She doesn't want to hide behind
That screen of lies.
She doesn't want to have to this time.

And She doesn't want to hold your hand.
You're cold, *******.

*She doesn't want to go back this time.
A poem about a toxic relationship.
in thought of me
you took my fall
time and time again

know me now
you hear my plea
carry me through

listen to my soul
break my heart
build me up

in your love
is my fire kindled
in your love
is where my desire is set aflame

I AM, it is you that died for me
one death, one resurrection
one return, one judge

One Truth
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35)

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. (John 10:9)

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11)

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
One morning looking at an autumn sunrise;
Seeing leaves falling,
Feeling a cold easterly breeze,

Out of nowhere,
On my way to do another hard day's labor,
I saw my future standing there,

Someone out of my dreams,

I felt a connection, with you
Where have we met?
When have I met you?

Who are you?
Someone I never knew,

Someone beyond time and space,
Someone dressed in white,
Reflecting the warm rays of morning sunshine,
A beautiful Halo reflecting in your dusky hair,

Someone to fill my life with Miracles,
Someone to change my life,
Someone to replace the missing part of my broken heart,

The one who saved my life,
The one I love.

after earning their first grammy, Eddie
Vedder stood with the other guys
in
Pearl Jam and said "I don't know what
this means or what I'm doing here."

how
do we put a grade on art? do we find
our
favorite poem and give it a smiley
face
sticker with an accolade like "good
goin!"?
do we single out a Mattisse sculpture,
give
it a round of applause and an Applebee's
gift card?

I don't have a grade for the
things
I love. that takes the fun out of loving
them.

I'll listen to your song. I'll play it
again.
I won't give it any stars but I'll give
it
all my attention.
-
i enjoy my solitude
but i wouldn't mind
if you jumped into it with me, too
I miss you,
And your smug smile,
The way you'd hmm
At every thought
And possibility.
Time was irrelevant
With you at my side,
Seconds were oceans,
And minutes were the sun.
I loved the world
As it was with you,
Dazzlingly confusing
Yet so simple.
It was topaz.
Semi-precious,
Yet so beautiful.
Like you.
