"embraceable" poems
Animal House
Sweeping dust
storm,
Gazelles leap.
Careening reach,
dizzy heights
Shy Giraffes
necking in
undergrowth.
Creeping tide
menageries
mystic sloths
limb and oath.
Sea mist
breaking wave
Sun prancing
Dolphins
embraceable
moonbeams.
Lizards
shedding skins.
Trine children,
Pan animals.
Golden gleaming
processions
growling purrs
Carnivores
give
Herbivores
last rites
confessions.
We are
the animal house
the hourglass
menageries.
bleating hearts
imminent deaths,
fleeting breaths,
unimaginable
love.

with flowers for the moonlight
the fright she bid goodbye
stars and leonids sparkled the night
like a wino in the midst with acquired dreams
I audit this blinky blue eyed sunrise
the two little satellites melted away
musical notes insured by a common man
harvested by the embraceable grim reaper
in this bizarre love pentangle
they arrive with their swarm of locusts
the thieves of silence!!

A breathtaking creation,
So close in distance,
Yet so out of reach.
Millions of light years away,
Physically untouchable,
Yet fully embraceable with your heart!

Embrace me, my sweet embraceable Dell
Embrace me, you irreplaceable Dell
Just one look at you, my Windows open up wide
You and you alone are always right by my side
I love all the Rom and Ram about you
Above all, I give a Dam about you
Don't be a naughty baby,
Do the magic that you do so well
My sweet unbreakable Dell

a flood rescue
helicopter
tracks above
a submerged
limo.
a shepherd leaves his field
while quoting
his dead wife-
one anxiety
under storm…
you
keep secretive
as a soup kitchen
the third act
apparitions
that are
your children.
a horse has nerves of horse.
grief is a manger.
I set it down.

Did I leave all of those women
a sacrifice
should I believe all of the judgement
paralyzed
the lies in all of the eyes I've slid by
embraceable
the saliva I've slid across the skin of too many women
overflow
losing myself in flesh just to be able to bear with...
life

(Song title from Judy Garland’s catalogue,
by George & Ira Gershwin)
I wanted to hold you the moment we met,
Your eyes like deep pools of emotions I’ll never forget,
Your lips held a smile by Da Vinci himself,
You exuded the sparkle of a mischievous elf,
I wanted to mould to embraceable you,
And give you a love that would see you through,
And now here we are embracing in a magical grip,
I feel warm and safe with you on this trip.

Mellifluous. Imperishable.
Drink to love, madly.
Façade of innocence, preserved by trickery.
Escape the gallows.
Bewed another, one of White Hands.
Jealous wife, she lies.
"It carries a black sail."
Turn away and indeed perish.
Embraceable you. She follows him unto death.
Two trees grow out of their graves.
So intertwined their branches, they can not be parted by any means.

I had lost my chance
For one last dance
The light upon your face
To catch my eye
And keep me tight
Locked in your embrace
Like best of friends
From end to end
I crave your sweet sweet taste
You were my love
For that one moment
Locked in my embrace

Shoreline safe, tickling salt water teases my lips
the sensation, land locked snug, surrounds the drenched soul
worn out woman revolve, staring the blue sky above
washed ashore, the choice to stay, attached to dry
arid desert journey don't mind the sweat
1 thousand steps strong the thirst is disturbing
crawling slithering snake too quick to scream
big bugs grasp the dripping crave from hunger
Eucalyptus frontier shades the hot from my brow
lone the journey sans the memento of my own
dark returns again my shadowless sight
peers in the outward fire crackling heat
windy night sky holler, too many stories
crashing the committed calm the beating stars
warm embraceable flame licking light
the turn to go stops 1 less step 2night

Have writ of the return to our sheltering place so oft,
sanity suggests move on to a topic lesser revered, yet,
the throb of compulsion is irresistible, immovable, irrefutable!
so the fingertips tango step over a white screen dance floor,
looking, for old steps, new combinations, awaiting reincarnation!
as if self-denial was even possible, sanity and need are irrecusable.
Every exodus requires a commencement miracle, ours annualized,
the small SUV engorged, supplies-swollen, a Chanukah oil miracle,
time & space expand - always enough, calm stating, ¡más! accepting
all offerings and longings, rolling merrily along the worn paths and hamlets of Indian origin, voyagers, port to port, till we are destined,
free forced to isle~ferry, to-exhale relief; Here! an embraceable peace.
Water~bounded, isolated isola, surround~sounded tween two spits of land, two forks, two tines, define/defend its in~between persona,
welcoming but skeptical, welcoming but take note, we all become an islander, even by osmosis, distinctive, in~possession of a collective history of heroes memory, inscribed names, on our ferries, highways, & eyes
we all become sheltered islanders, serving by remembering….

the poetic soul
screams love!
there can be
no greater poem
than one written
with a broken heart
passion oozes
from fingers
typing words
encased in agony
a being
wallowing in self pity
makes oh, such embraceable poetry
blood soaked keypad
from overworked fingers
desperate to convey
the pain held within
give me a spirit
crushed by love
and i will give you
a kick *** poem!

Poignant
In the way chance falls,
Irresolute
And without recall.
Preposterously
In foolish play,
Galling,
In it's heartless way.
Laughable
When whimsy, seen
Embraceable
As so obscene....
To Whom now
Falls the questing quest?
Perhaps,
To he, who claims, knows best?
Enmeshed
Though, in his quagmire slog
Retreats
To distant treeline fog
Where there,
In crystal silence, long,
.....
DISCERNS NOW!
......
To a Blackbird's song
