Breathtaking views
of undisturbed nature.
This is where my heart lies.

The lapping of the water
The cool gentle breeze
As the dock creaks and sways.
I am content.

Barefoot in the grass
The cool earth beneath my feet
The smell of the air is rustic and sweet
Frogs hop away
Your step they hope to beat
This is where my heart lies.

Breakfast on the deck
Sun shines in your face
Skin warm and bright
Your senses filled with grace.

Pitter pattering in the kitchen
Laughter abounds
Friends and family come together
Peace is found
This is where my heart lies.

As I stare at the bay
Stress and concerns float away
A dip in the water
Or a paddle too
Ventures you into the never ending blue.

As the sun sets
and crickets chirp
The stars appear
Lighting the sky
This is where my heart lies.

Crackles from the fire
Music resonates in the air
Stories that inspire
Friends and family that care.

This place is special
Wondrous and enchanted
Magic all around,
Absorbing nature's sounds.

This is where my heart lies.

I want to press your kisses between the pages of a book
Like dried flowers from a June day
Your lips flutter over my cheeks, my nose
the throbbing valley of my throat
And I'm convinced you must be a hummingbird

Each kiss feels like a bouquet
You must have drank from the foxglove and yarrow before you
     flew to me
Your heart stutters under my palm
Throbbing fast and full of sweetness

Tell me
Do you understand how delightful you are?
Come
Drink the sugar water from my garden
The cottage is always a little sunnier with you around.

Sometimes I'm the sheep
Lost in a meadow with everything to graze
And sometimes I'm the wolf
Face deep in the fiery blood and steam
And Both I've Been To Be...

A small representation of how I approach my writing. I find that I am either disinterested, lost and in need of a Shepard. Or the opposite. Consuming and feirce.

There are two kinds of people
Sharks and
sheep

Sharks are winners
They never look back
Because they have no necks

Necks are for sheep

Picked nails, bleeding lips,
aching teeth in screeming sheep
I'm an anxious wolf.

And I'm howling soundlessly in a valley full of succumb beings

Escape

Where would you go?

If I were to tell you it will all end
the minute you
close your eyes
take a breath
it's gone
taken away.

Open your eyes
escape!
its not the only place

There is more out there
don't be deceived by the lies,
the map in your mind,
is all a trap.

The road ahead is an open terrain
nothing compared to what
is in your head.

They feed you the truth
but whose truth
what is true and what is false
in a world damaged by their cause.

Don't be fooled and open your eyes
Escape from the lies that they tell.
Find your own way.

All I can say is
ESCAPE!

Brown Eyes

Nobody ever talks' about your eyes.
Like how they swirl with hidden ember, and fallen leaves. And how they have the depth and mystery of a dark abyss. Pulling you in, really making you take a deeper look.
Nobody ever talks' about how they flicker with smoke, and fire each time the light shines 'just right' on them. And how they seem to have the whole world entangled into an innocent ring of rope. Like a warm round cup of coffee, bittersweet. Addictive.
Nobody ever talks' about how they make you feel ever-more engaged, like you could be looking into a whole universe, a whole soul. Pulling you in, making you dream of dim lit fires and smokey silhouettes sprawled against a midnight moon.
I get lost in your eyes. I feel found in your eyes. And I crave your eyes.
But nobody ever talks' about your eyes.

I will forever remember
Those beautiful deep brown eyes
That you thought were so plain.
But darling, you could not see:
how could you possibly see?
The way they shined in the sun
breathtaking hues of mahogany
Melting into golden rays
Circling an eclipse
your “plain brown eyes”
truly aren’t plain at all
they are a stunning mixture
of every color known to man
The most beautiful sunset on earth.
Your eyes are the most vivid memory I have of you, even after all of these months. You always used to call your eyes "boring and plain" and even called them "**** brown." But to me, your eyes were the most beautiful color I've ever seen. You know when you mix a bunch of colors together and it all turns brown? Thats how I viewed your eyes... The deep brown was just a mixture of everything you could offer the world.

Snow arrived,
quite suddenly.
The city fell
to silence:
softness flurried,
whiteness spread.
Our footsteps
punched a rhythm:
crisp heel, crisp toe.
Steaming cars slid past
in slush, peeling back
the long black road.
The trees drooped:
tears splattered on
the streets, but
still my heart
lay cold.
