Pine needles in my head
Snowbird starts to fly
A want of apricity
Enters my blood stream
Like lukewarm sea water
Enters hiemal streams
I'm sprawled facedown
An angel or so
Below the snow
The taste of frost
Technically wintergreen
From your breathy kiss
Hinting at a return
To rays of affection
And the crush of limbs
دema flutter Feb 2021
you
delicate
just like
gold flakes,

filled with
an iridescent
sapphire,

so sweet,
honey-glazed donut
instead of a heart,

even a glimpse
of your sunshine

is enough
to keep souls
warm for an entire winter season.

two feet expected
snow kept all in except plow
knitted gloves are done

snow day keeps kids home
snowmen born with children’s hands
hot chocolates on stove

all night snow fell down
inner child in adult smiles
no work, back to bed

wind builds as snow swirls
rolling over back to bed
I just love Winter

it’s white wonderland
when done ten feet reported
Go plow go, bless you

snow on street fell fast
Mother’s pregnant with child
snowman is now birthed

snowed entire night
white wonderland blesses eyes
jumped for joy, no work

snow fell ten feet tall
winters monster reaped havoc
shovel sword aimed high
WINTER IS HERE FOR SURE

It takes
Snowflakes

To fall
In all

Landscapes
Reshapes

White sheets
Such treats

All day
Kids play

Some sled
The spread

Some ski
With glee

Some skate
The slate

Snowballs
Appalls

Snowballs
Catch alls

Such fun
Is spun

My youth
Had tooth

Long ago
I glow

My fond memories of my youth were high lighted with the first fall of snow. It was so much fun. To play like kids, fast, furious, and fathomless (at the time, and who would of imagined how fast time went by).  After a long winter's day we would head home. Mom would makes some hot chocolate and the warmth of our house always felt good
The sun and the moon
In the same sky, not left out
In the cold darkness
I love winter mornings.

Tonight  is this year's first fog in the city  .It's smell approaches  me through the crevices on bottom of window frames .
.
Our days  of memories forbid me to sleep . My eyelids heave with the excitement at which my thoughts want to celebrate your immortality within me .My eyelashes are too heavy with tears to be lifted up .
.
I am reminded of the time when I was so scared of the water stretches and their depth until I looked deep in your eyes that flooded , held a hundred tides of reasons , an accumulation of all the why whirling on a monotonous note .
.
I am reminded of the lesson that pain isn't abstract , it heaves in the familiar undiscovered parts of my body   when I breathe in your absence.
.
I close my eyes tonight   and when I take the name of universe and god, I see the vision of your face . As I isolate from the worldly tantrums and try sinking deep in my conscience,  I am draped with the feelings you offered me in all ways .

Time is fleeting, time is fair, and if it were a maiden; her beauty none dare compare. Her youthfulness in spring, and calm eloquence in winter, like a rain drop on sea as mighty as is gentle.

Blessings fall
Snowflakes reflect your rise
as they mirror resilience dynamically
under the January moonlight

cold string lights
warm street lights

sweater
scrunchie
mask
mittens

fogged over
grey bus ride
it's always
morning
in this world
i've made for myself

tapping keys and
blazing screens and
soft wooden
electronica dreams

coffee cups with
grease on the outside
and swirling flakes
of keep it together girl

don't let your
fingers freeze
and hope that
your toes get warm

and at night pull
the velvety clouds
over your eyes
after you slip down
like hot wax
off a candle

washed down with
soap and daily regrets
washed down with
cold wine and ink

wash
rinse
repeat
tomorrow
but for
right now

*it's all over now
