i was rushing up the stairs,
running away from the fears,
the nightmares, the past.

and you were coming down
those very stairs, entering
my fears, my nightmares,
my past.

and we bumped into
one another, colliding
two different worlds
into the same universe,
with only a mere eye contact
and a slightly curved lip.

I'm going down home
Where I graze to ****** hunger
And graze to feed my anger
But let me not be alone
They should welcome you too

I'm going down to the hat
That's full of comfort and love
Upon which the sun wishes to come down from above
So let me not be alone
They should welcome you too

Up above it the moon glitters
And asks the stars if they would shine
To watch me approach with friends of mine
So let me not be alone
They should welcome you too

The friendly people are waiting for me
But aren't waiting to see me alone
For they are happy to see visitors but sad to see them gone
So let me not be alone
They should welcome you too.

words in a poem
must they be comprehendible?
you'll read it regardless and get a sense
what I'm feeling is different
something you havent
I'm in a weird place
a high medium
charged by the moon
drained by you
time apart to do what we do
disappear into the day
hide in the night
don't you know that im the light?

shine bright like a diamond
atop a neptunian peak
colored skies
more power is what I seek

forget you, I've got two me's to handle
a duality of ego and asceticism
conflicting sights
one light
its time to help myself fight.

A neon glow,

a flourencent daze,

a shine of the sun’s rays upon a rose display.

The shade felt from a midnight ****,

or from fire around tiki poles

in a field.

Some say it’s a recognized face

that makes one feel home.

But it’s a familiar light

that makes us

feel welcome.

My attic's full
Of Thank You's
That can't keep out
The cold,
But rafters
Hang with laughter
To warm me
When I'm old.

My basement's full
Of Pleases,
Poor fuel for the furnace,
But air vents
Carry welcomes
To keep us cool
Or warm us.

The shed is shelved
With If's and Buts
And jars of
Maybe bolts;
The fasteners
Of family ties,
The glue
Of hearts and souls.

Search the garage,
Open cupboards,
Lift the sideboard lid;
Step into closests,
Check under stairs,
You'll find them everywhere.
We use them freely,
Need them dearly,
Those small words
Sound so good.
Someone is knocking at my door and it's a knock that Ive heard before
In the past
I've made the mistake and opened it wide not really caring who resides on the other side
To my surprise I got hurt
Burned, scared, stabbed, punched, kicked
Shall I go on
Left me laying on the side lines wondering what caused my demise
What harm did I cause you for you to make my eyes cry
To make me wish I would die
Or better yet
Hope you would die
Now here you are again
Knocking that same knock
Yes, you are in different form
But how do I know that your change isn't just skin deep
So instead of my opening my door wide,
This time
I'm going to shut it tight
I'm going to close the blinds and Turn off the lights
I'm going to hide in corner and patch my wounds
I'm sorry Love
but you aren't welcomed here anymore

I'm As Real As Your Thoughts, Do not Fear Me

*******'s hangover

Tangential emotion

Birthed in a string of complacency

Welcome, my Prince of the Edge of Shadows

Stop.
The trees are sinking
As the ground grows mouths to swallow them
Keep your head held high
No, actually, don’t
Heads held high are often cut off
Stay low, keep to the shadows
NOT THOSE SHADOWS! Those ones, over there.
Yes. Don’t move. Don’t ever move again.
Question your existence as you huddle
Trying to be still but shivering despite yourself
There are no mouths here, nothing to swallow you
And isn’t that a shame?
Find the teeth that will crush you
Throw yourself on their unyielding edges
Accept your fate. Everyone else has.
Can’t you see that?
Can’t you hear it in the empty echo of your voice
As you call for help, for company, for a face, any face?
Stop. You are dreaming this.
Oh you are still alone, we all are
But there are no gnashing teeth to grind you up
No mouths in the ground to swallow you whole
Breathe. Relax. It’s all okay. It’s all okay.
Everything will be okay if you let it.
Will you let it? Do you need to be convinced?
Stop. You are dreaming, you are dreaming.
Wake up. Why can’t you wake up?
The ground is opening up again
This is too real to be a dream
All you can do is cry soundlessly into the dark
Stop.
Stop.
Stop.
Step into my journal
My life before your eyes
Come step into my world, dear
It's sure to be a surprise

What you thought about me
Disappeared without a sound
I liked to hide behind my walls
Whenever you came 'round

I'm not perfect, not even holy
I've got scars that I love to hide
If you come and look closely, you'll see
That I have more than just one side.

...Welcome.
