Till you start texting wanting a deeper
Relationship but they don't
the closer you get the farther they push you away
The more you want to know
The more they close up
The more you talk
the more they stop texting you
The more you find out about them
The odds and
ends about them
Weird stuff that
makes you
laugh
Out loud but cover
your mouth since everyone
looks at you
The small quirks and jokes
The sly comments and serious comments
The truth and lies
This decliate web built upon trust,love and weaved with
Lies

And it's not that
I can lay the blame
for my obsession at your door
For it was me
who draped your words
with added meaning
dangling the gossamer sheets
from the paltry phrases
that fell a little too carelessly
from your cursed mouth,
never guessing ,even once,
that they would wind up serving
as iron blinds
*for my caged soul

Exhilaration floods through me as I emerge from my cocoon
Spreading my wings
Extending my new body features
Taking flight for the very first time

Through the winds I fly
Into the clouds I soar
From the rain I hide
The flower bed is my dance floor

I twirl, I flutter above the crocuses
The blue and violet outstanding in the green field
But it’s not them that caught my attention
You caught my eye

I swirl, I flutter—
I’m trapped in white

Into the winds I cry
From clouds I fall
In the rain I lie
I don’t visit the flower bed
Anymore

You stole my heart
You control my heart
Your smiles, your tears, hold my limbs against the white sticky strands
I can’t move, I can’t escape

My smiles, my tears, for myself to see

The blistering heat is you
The chilly wind is you

Trapped in this thread

I never saw this coming
Flying high with no care
In my way I saw nothing
Invisible was this snare

A silk so smooth
A soul that can't move
A strung up person
A life that can't worsen

Then I see those eyes
Eyes of a predator below
I look to the skies
Looking for God's glow

But he is not there
And I have nothing
Below fangs bare
I prepare for my ending

A life frozen in time
A beast that can't climb
A cage is life's sling
A web the only thing

That keeps us from the monsters below

A web of terror would know quaintness  
in their crêpe variety where a spider grew angrier
only silk woven blouse blest bats
why darts inside heads if their tough regimen were slime
and never really frittered away an hour at bay.
