Endless Horizon Aug 2014
I am searching through the ghastly depths below the seas,
Where the sunlight still shines through the waters.
I find an interesting village...A haven for creatures in this
Dead, lifeless ocean floor.
I did not know so much life teemed through this rock.
Intricate sea creatures swim through the teeming corals
like red liquid flows through narrow blood vessels.
Each with a purpose, each with a task.
One species benefits the other, and vice versa.
The sea cannot live without one, and one cannot live without the other.

This makes me question the point of me being the world.
Am I something of importance,
Or a seemingly dangerous virus?
Really, I cannot tell who I shall be,
Until I live out the rest of my life, and find out,
Who I really am, and the person that will grieve for me the most when I'm gone.
I seriously did not give this poem much thought. Kinda just went with the flow here, no pun intended.

Swimming in the sea of my own self-pity,
I try to stay afloat,
but cannot no longer,
for I am pouring in more than I can take out.

Like the Dead Sea, I gather my sins,
wallowing farther in my transgressions
The salted waters drown me,
engulf me,
choke me,
mold me
into a lifeless form.

The gales rise into a tempest,
whipping my face with the spray of tears and the stings of sweat

I collapse inside my lifeboat, my sole vessel
It's the one called Happiness. It's all I have left.
Depressed poetry is not my forte.

We flew over oceans of love to be together
for what seemed to us miles and
aeons

we rowed on lakes of loving to be together
with hardly anything like a bad
row

I skated on love on your hesitant pond
still you kindly let me join the rain and go
on

Then after a low cloud swept the night
you asked me not to attempt to
follow
thirst
slaked

yet I had to
try to find love where your puddle had been
but it had slowly dried up on me in a move to
mud

I rolled again and again within the crushed soil
until it seemed to me lead
washed up

ill winds blew but not ever over
oceans and aeons of tears
and drowned out calls to your land but not of
mind

now only a parted hand of mine moves
upon the face of your recalled waters
to gather the heartfelt ripples of love
in spirit
together

My heart sails,
Like the ocean breeze,
In search of the calming aquamarine waters,
As it rises with ease.

Sending a refreshing fragrance,
When the brisk air echoes upon the shore,
And cleanses my inner soul,
As I listen to the music of yore.

And the midnight sky,
Transcends into a luminous show,
As I sit back,
And enjoy the beautiful site from below.

In stillness, and splendors of the oceans glint,
I casually walked down memory lane,
Leaving behind, lovely memories with each passing footprint.

Calming sapphire waters, creased upon the shore,
Bringing mild sudsy currents,
Crashing onto the smooth silky sands, like never before.

As sparkling seashells decorated the seaside,
Tumbling gently,
Upon the tiny creamy sprinkles of grain, as I glanced along the side.

Inside the tropical seas,
Sits a pinkish-red coral, in a lovely pose,
Like an elegant piece of jewel,
Concealed underwater, at dusk,
Unveiling, as the sun graciously arose.

Reflecting a fine portrait,
Of nature's gifted qualities,
Beneath the azure skies, and surrounded by sparkling waters,
A spectacular picturesque scenery,
Releasing all of my worries and ties.

Just when the sun illuminates,
Upon the sapphire skies,
And the clouds appear,
To slowly dance, side by side.

Shimmery, cobalt blue waters,
Perform a low sequence, on the seaside,
Leaving a bubbling blanket,
On the surface of smooth sands,
Washing away, pretentiously.

Bringing a gentle tropical zephyr,
With rhythmic sounds,
Echoing, through evergreen pinnate leaves,
Swinging gently, into the calming air.

Inspiring a magical after glow,
With dreams fulfilled,
In ecstasy,
Leaving a warm and peaceful impression.

This city breathes the blues
buried just under the skin
in the memory of cleaners
and slaughter

Here the gospel travels
from mouth to heart
and it offers comfort
as by-catch of the bottle

The center as a pacemaker
in an old and worn out body
is waiting for the final lines
from a song by Muddy Waters

"You ain't gonna trouble
poor me, anymore "
