As I walk down this corridor,

The walls melt with my sins.

For what I thought was right, was actually wrong.

The foundation that had been built below has now risen above,

Meant to crush its very creator.

As I walk down this corridor, the world dissipates.

Leaving me, a lone soul among the vast, set ajar with the flavors of love lingering behind.

Life is an act of infidelity, shadowed by blurred commitment.

For when we arise, we are void of the responsibilities.

But taken from the very purpose of life, which is to be responsible for living.
What is the true purpose of love?

The darkness is right there

But the light is over there too

It won't make sense to many people

But it was so much easier to walk into the dark and watch the light

And imagine

What it would feel like

Love shines
So bright like a
Warm summer's day
Passionate and love
On this warm summer's day
She's Truly Beauitful in life,
The warmth of our embrace
She leaves me breathless
On this warm summer's day...
Summer's Day

The time is right
To say goodnight,
To your true love
A gentel kiss
A warm hug
Her heart filled with
Your Love...
So a warm hug I send
You tonight,
Because your my
Special girl every night....
Warm Hearted Love

My eternal light
Illuminate my path
My eternal meadow
Fill my life of colors
My eternal love
Fill my heart with joy

Because without you
The night is bleak
The fields don’t bloom
And I lose hope

I know you seek warmth
From this cold world
I know you seek meaning
To this dull void
The ennui is getting old
And as we try to move along
We get bored

I grasp to reality
Like my life depends on it
I grasp to hope
So I don’t lose my composure
My mind races
Ten million light years to go
And there’s no finish line in sight

I need to breath the air
I need to feel the sun
I need to touch the water
I need to hear your voice
To bring me back to Earth

Only you
Can make time cease to exist
Only you
Can make this word small
Only you
Can bring happiness to a lonely heart
And only you
Can make the sunsets beautiful
And the stars align
But for now let’s just take it day by day
The future is an enigma
It was always meant to be kept that way

The quiet, damp, moonlit field shivers all night
Where the tempted wild beasts hunt, have been searching
In silent night, roams a piercing starlight
The warm sun is soon to be emerging

A Fiery glow, seen in the horizon
The lonely oaks long for the warm sun
The stars, once dim, begin to enlighten
Through the land, a new day has now begun

The yellowish glow leaks into the sky
Beasts, once active, lay while the sun shines
The infants, now awake, begin to cry
The cool night meets the warm light and align

An arising sun shone among the stars
Awakening the world, as would on mars

& when you walk away
When the doors to your arms
Are no longer open.
Where do I go
To wander the thoughts that
Keep me warm & snug.
There are parts of you that twist
The thermostat that actives
This warmth.
& when you walk away
To where does the mail go addressed
With the stamp of your lips,
A place I call home.
Will it be delivered else where
& I forlorn.
When the doors to your arms
Are no longer open.
Where do I go
To wander the thoughts that
Keep me warm & snug

Play me a sad song?
But what of this joyous day
Summer unfurls before us
And warm sunshine tans my skin

Sure we toil in trenches
Dug as defensive lines
Against a swarm
So complete in its hostility

But brothers, hear the sounds of nature
Echoing around us
Wrapping us in soft cacoons
Of sweet distraction

So do not sing a sad song
Don't dampen my ephemeral mood
Let me have this moment of reprieve
As I dig trenches
On a future battlefield
This poem was written in Afghanistan in 2010.  It is the only positive piece I have written from the portion of my life.  And those of you who've read my other poems about war probably know that very well.  It was just a strange day as summer began and we were in our short sleeve shirts building defensive barriers, surrounded by towering mountains.  It was such a beautiful sight.  It made me think about working in the yard with my dad and the feeling of bonding and accomplishment at a day's toil.

Two hearts,
burning bright.
Hands held tight,
Knuckles turning white.

The snow falls light,
Radiating a pure white
But these two souls
Shine far more bright.
They’ve liked their wings
And have taken a flight.

Wasn’t sure where to put these two lines so I put them here.
