You may be stubborn
You may be sweet
You may be the kind of person I want to meet
But until you stay with words unspoken
These walls I built will be left unbroken.

Shards of the body-length mirror
Are pressed firmly in the skin.
Blood dribbles down on the
Snow spotted coffee table.
Dragging the blade of glass
Across the wrist is now
An everyday, effortless need.

I'm sorry that the eyes can't see
That broken mirrors still shine
And that pieces are easier to swallow than a whole depressing picture.

Broken glass still shine in the light.
And flowers don't bloom with out the sun.
You are not wilted and you are not broken...lean towards the healing light.

A soldier is stripped of everything but his will to live

I nuzzle my head into your chest like a child
You ask if I'm okay
"Yes. I just wanted to hear your heartbeat."

A human being is stranded in the middle of the sea, forced to watch a comrade stop fighting to live.

You run your fingers through my hair,
Cradle my hand in yours
We are still lovers, still breathing

He makes it to the shore of the enemy
Is immediately demoted to POW

I wonder if you know that I'm a prisoner of love; it is quite the wonderful setup. We kiss with the lips first, and you ease into tongue because you are patient; you are okay with waiting

Beatings
Torturous conditions
And then--
He is liked and wanted
Is allowed to leave camp to tell his parents he's still alive
And in that building he sees "a woman for the first time
In two years" you whisper
Something I hadn't thought of
And I wonder if men need women more than I recognize

Why is it that your first love leaves you ****** up?
Like how can something that was once so good scar you so bad?
How can someone that 'loves' you, hurt you so bad?

Crying for hours.
No sleep.
No trust.
Outrageous anger.

You left me in so much pain.

Love.
Trust.
Attention.
Loyalty.
Honesty.
I gave you it all.

But what did you do for me?
Lie.
Cheat.
Make me look and feel like a complete ***.

***** you left me resentful.

Now I'm not safe.
I'm not comfortable.
I feel lost and incomplete.

There's no more love inside of me.
No more trust.

I'm just full of insecurities and hatred.
I'm just numb.

Unbreakable.
Stronger than I've ever been actually.
Emotionless.

But now you see me on my grind.
Feelin myself.
Being successful.
Doing me.
Why you coming back?
Playing like you know me?

See let me get things straight.
You might be able to crack me, but you can't break me. The horrible state you left me only made me stronger.

When a female has a strong head on her shoulders,  she can never be broken. The blood rushing through her head creates stability.
She's independent.
It might be a bit rocky at first, but trust me, she gon be good with,  or without you.
What you thought you destroyed, was just a bit of reconstruction going on. Renovation for bigger and better.

Just look at the beautiful creation you made.

I was the unbroken.
The challenge.
All the fates-
Tried to keep me down.
I always got up.
I would run-
Run away from the pain.
But this time,
It caught me,
And here I am
Trying to fight it,
But I know,
Deep inside,
I have already lost.
*I have been broken.

I am energy,
not heaven sent.
I carry the world.
I stand unbent.

I am power,
of silence and sound.
I am no puppet.
I stand unbound.

I am universal,
where truth is spoken.
Night turns to morn.
I stand unbroken

no words will give justice
to these emotions that howl over me
it's doubtful how you miss
this love that cries for you to see

i'll shower you with flowers
and i'll kiss away the pain
i'll hold you when fear towers
and i'll break off every chain

it won't always be smooth sailing
i know honeymoons don't last
but know my love is never failing
with you, selfishness is of the past

i realize you're in a trance
of that girl who loves you so
but if you'd only give me a glance
i will take away all your sorrow

words left unspoken
feelings left unsaid
before you i was unbroken
but now for you i've bled

Back at the shore, at the interface, I tried, once, to be free.
I found a human animal there, hidden beneath the sea.
It stared, defiant, back at me, perplexed to be observed.
It had no need for company,
It had no need for words.

I felt unable to understand,
Understanding all too well.
The pain within the heart of man,
The pain they buy and sell.

I spoke aloud, though, anyway,
I thought I knew those eyes,
Believed my voice could make a change,
In other creature's lives.

"You're hurt", I said, to the ocean waves,
"Why hide beneath the sea?"
"You're a fool", it said, "presuming that",
"There's something wrong with me"

"Go back to where it's warm and dry,"
"Just walk away from here."
"The water gives me all I need."
"Spare me your hope and fear".

Perhaps", I said, "We all are broken,"
"To some extent, in body; soul..."
I saw my own, afraid but happy,
So unbroken as to seem whole.

It shouted at me once I had left,
We would never meet again.
Then whispered an unheard, but felt,
Admission to the pain.

seed= so unbroken as to seem whole
or, did you just become accustomed to the pain?
Still working on the final stanzas, trying to preserve "...an unheard, but felt, admission to the pain" without that awkward abruptness.

It started by you saying you love me,
but I didn't think you would be leaving.

I stopped missing you,
needing you, and I could still say
that the promise I made
Still stands unbroken because
"I'll love you forever."

you took the ground upon which i walked and made it my sky
you took my hands and you taught me
my dreams, they can fly.
you took my heart that had died
shook it with all your passion
and set it afire with all life's storms.
you brought me to my knees
for love, for pain, for life
and then you set me free.
