You're an afterimage
You shine so bright upon me

You're an inducement
Your eyes draw me forth

You're a vibration
Your voice shivers my spine

You're a compression
Your legs wrap about my will

Here I am now
My fatal sweet
Waiting to be consumed

the threads connecting us
to our loved ones
need to stay strong
like spider's silk
to survive this battle.
stay safe. we need each other.
For what is life

But a series of convoluted steps each interconnected with the finest intricacy of a spider's web.

What does one do if they step off these paths
or find their strings crossed?

What do they think when they look to their left
just to see another web perfectly whole?

Delicate

Symmetrical

Beautiful

Then they look to their own and can't help but see the left side is skewed.

A line, fatter than it should be.

They look at that other web.

And so they stop.

What are they to do but sit and think?

Why can't I do that?

What point did I go wrong?

Suspended in the air with no way down because it is too late to turn back.

And they give up.

Hopefulness consumes me
It’s a spider in my chest
It’s the feeling I know best
The spider makes its home
In all that I have known
The webbing makes me heave
But it’s helping me to breathe
Lays its eggs inside my heart
Causing me to fall apart
Curls its legs around my soul
Where it might just make me whole

Strands of drifting silk
Glisten in the gentle breeze
Intangible wisps.
Inspired by that time of season when the baby spiders are ballooning using strands of gossamer silk to get from place to place.

creeping madness slicks black and manic

spider high up on the wall

eyeballing me nervously,                                       "who are you?

why are you stalling? whats come crawling back?

you know how this ends don't you?"

swift answers and an amniotic happiness installation.

speaking of stone, wired the lilies grow and the intrepid sank there was quite a stillness in the air.

sunken sand around my feet water cold and green.

     out to meet the entity

her languorous form so ravenously tempting

     so utterly repulsive and unspeakable.

looking for lights offshore

heretics of the unimaginable disciples of the moon

chemical ooze gels burns in the stomach

lit on up and walked out over the water.

after his peak, went heat seeking to the east and he ceased his babble easily, stuffing his mouth with pennies and bits of charcoal. we called him land-lubber and left him for said.

there is no part to this.

there is no heart in this.

blistering and out of control the fever spins.

wandering tills the level.

filtering cold and pushes me out into the yarns.
a crawling idiot madness

All I want is one day
Where my veins don't itch below the skin
Where I don't crave the bites

All I want is one day
Where I don't have to think about it
If only so I could clear the hair from my skin without temptation

All I want is one day
Where I don't have to fight with myself through every moment
To indulge in life's simple pleasures with an undistracted mind

All I want is one day
Where the spiders don't crawl beneath my skin
And I cease searching for scars that have since faded

All I want is one day
But I would take an hour-
Or even a minute...

Simply to be free of the spiderwebs that splay across my skin.
350 days clean today and I still crave it.
