your voice whispers
a cry of light
splits the silence
you come back to me ... and it's a new sunny day
Mitch Prax Jun 2020
Our love is
like a polaroid-
it developed slowly and
even shaken along the way.
But no matter what our
perfect picture has endured,
it will always be worth framing
as long as you are
center frame.

My soul

Couldn't yearn loud enough

For you to hear me.

Whenever
you are ready
to let down your guard
and break down the walls,
I promise to pick up
every brick
and rebuild you
as if to rebuild
my home.

I sit here, four years later, and I know in my heart we will end up together. For now, I must simply endure until I finally inherit the day where I can look into your eyes and see my "reflection" once more.

You have all my "also's"...and you always will.

their scent becomes the sweetest
their skin the softest
& their eyes the most compelling
do you agree?

I find my place
In between your arms
In between your tender kisses
And soft whispers of “you’re my everything”
I find my place
In between the warmth of your embrace
And the scent of your neck
And the fierceness of your touch
I find my place lost inside your soul

Two
Despite
the distance,
no one will ever
be closer to my heart
than you.

Though neither of us perfect be...
Together we work perfectly

Carry me gently
Over the lilting waves
Towards the Spanish sea;
Let my moonlight skin
spark the water around me and
guide my floating body to where my
soul shall rest.

I let the tide take its course,
Trusting Poseidon to grant me mercy and
pull me to my heart's crying need before it
bursts and spatters the
ocean's clarity.

Bobbing up and down like a seagull
I can taste the salty spray - it
tempts me further towards the
island of my dreams, and the
bitterness on my tongue will
transform into the sweetest nectar of
the gods, when I wash up there.

It is not the laws of men which
carry me gently over the
lilting waves, but the
buoyant love within me that
keeps me afloat and
full of hope.
This poem is about how I want to be reunited with my boyfriend who lives in Ibiza. We haven't seen each other since March due to the pandemic and the fact I may be able to see him next month makes me crave him even more.
