"The Look of Innocence"

I saw the look of innocence
Which i used to call stupidity
In the eyes of fresh young bodies
Moving freely about the planet
To see if they can find themselves
Or some thing worth it to be
Or merely exciting the senses
I don't know which but i guess
And think i know a big mistake
That fades a bit from time to time
To let me perceive now and then
New realities and or concepts
Like the look of innocence

SMELL
my favorite, old,
yet loved book;
the yellowed pages
bent at the corner
as bookmarks,
and
margins full of notes

SEE
a young adult
with a goofy aura,
a gentle smile,
and
an adventurous look
that never leaves your eyes

TASTE
your kisses
are addicting
and
sweet like honey

TOUCH
soft
and
tender
yet
aggressively intimate

HEAR
your voice
calm and relaxing,
your laughter
is music to my ears
and
authentic

FEEL
(as this is different from touch)
warm
and
cozy,
it comforts me,
safe
and
protected,
on a rainy day indoors
curled into your arms

home is where the heart is
and
it beats for you
to the love of my life

Look at your hands,
          now touch your face..

Is this us, our impressions
       collected by our grasp..

Now walk bare foot in the
           garden, street..

Are these our footsteps naked under us?
                            Or repetitions of before,
that feeling that were breadcrumbs on a path.

Were not sure of ourselves
                                             we use our senses
collectively to exist in our surroundings..

But if we had none would we be alive at all??
All the wonders of the world,
none of them could compare to how amazing the human senses work

Imagine unknowingly capturing little details of a person

Like how she only has that one small canine tooth
that you keep noticing everytime you think of her smile

Or the way she smells just like strawberries and rainbows
just when she runs her fingers through her hair

Maybe that little hick up sound she makes at the end of every chuckle, similar to the way she would pull back her tongue when ending a kiss

Oh what a wonderful gift

Where hands can’t touch,
Let my words fill the void.
To be a whispered blanket upon roughened skin.
And watch the snowflakes melt into you.

When eyes can’t see the darkened spectrum
May I try to decipher and unravel,
Your aura—beaming around you like a halo.
And cloaking you in passion.

When I can’t hear you anymore,
And my nose no longer can smell the pines and peonies on your skin,
I’d like to think that your body language
Would still my heartbeat, and draw me in.

Like a nightmare of most vivid dreams.

She smelled like the dirt,
The deep rich of earth,
The water and the air,
The carbon and the mirth.

She looked like the sky,
Her head lifted high,
Clouds in her features,
Birds passing by.

She tasted like the stream,
The water cold and clean,
With the fauna and the falls,
She was all in between.

She sounded like the night,
The wisp of bats in flight,
The chirping of the crickets
Before the morning's light.

She felt like trees:
Strong, but in the breeze,
Swaying to the music
Only heard by me.

Tracing the holes on my peely-paint wall
My fingertips ask what’s behind
So I pull at the edge & it all falls apart
With more peely-paint holes inside
“Loss must be marked and it cannot be represented”

She took my hand, I reached for hers,
But packages expire.
I signed my name in bleeding black,
Distracted by a fire.

I studied her place that flickered, and danced to most of songs.
Observing as an eskimo,
Oh, stripping coats along.

She took my right, she lent her left,
We bear this trade as fair.
I sold some skins, and broke for bikes,
But lady shares the air.

Cigar, the smoke, ballooned the mouth;
I puffed a cloud content.
She put me out, my zenith gone,
I huffed her secret scent.

"Aw, come with me my boy of mine,"
(As if I had a choice)
"I'll take your side and hold our cup"
-Those valleys in her voice

She dragged 'her hands' along with her,
My cheek and body bruised.
The scarlet halls preceded stairs,
Sangria walls ensued.

We came up to a room so red,
It bled with love, confused-
I was.
"Bring your heart to bed", she said.
"Bring here, my heart, with you."

So close we layed, our toes they twined,
Our clothes aligned like rain.
She said "I'm yours", and me, her "mine".
I softly, said the same.
