Smiles and laughters, tears of joy
Companion, friendship, negatives destroy
Growth and challenges, positives rejoice
Memories and moments, time flies, enjoy

Taken for granted,  un-noticed, un-seen
Always complaining, the best is not seen
Thankful, complete, un-heard off, extinct?
Open your eyes and use ur instinct

Live the now, its happening  its legit
Remove the blinders, be happy, commit

Our love, I foolishly hoped, would be pretty simple
For down my spine you’d always send a tender tickle
But you and not I turned out to be blithely fickle
The day you said goodbye, I got to see pure evil
In eyes that were once alluring if not readily sinful
I silently cried because my heart then you did *******
The forever you promised somehow became a mere wrinkle
In the future that I now have to explain in past participle

A hand in the dark
An ear in that needed moment
A light with significant spark
The peace to a heated argument

Companion through my journey
My warm cuddles furry
Pillow of rest as I share a story
My shadow, my baby, my glory

Your scent on my pillow
Your whispers -  imaginary
Lips so soft as a marshmallow
Your touch -  legendary

Your reflection next to mine
Clear waters, breeze and chimes
All felt great, all was fine
You were my angel, you were mine

Let me ask you a question
Do you feel the connection?
A growing infection
The need for affection
A feeling of perfection
Going the right direction
Its not an invention
Just feelings of extension
The need for your protection
And your undivided attention
Continuous fixation
A total obsession

The thing that's annoyingly tragic is,
This cactus has plenty of adjectives,
So why can't I rhyme,
Like I do all the time,
And find myself right where the magic is?

I can't figure out a limerick,
About a cactus and its ******,
God-**** it, it's stumped me,
I've been trying for centuries-
Or has it just been a few minutes?
For practice, I've been writing limericks about random objects. This is what I came up with for a cactus.

Paper cut feeling, a thousand times
Warm touches, that eases sometimes
Puzzle brain with missing pieces
It gets colder, the warmth decreases
Words of comfort, kisses so sweet
Yet its still there, it makes me weak
Forgive the actions, believe the words
Forgetting is impossible, keeps chirping like birds
Like a jellyfish, internal, immortal
Can I burry it, can it be mortal?

As the earth needs to be kept alive
In my heart ,so needs you, as together we strive
Like a plant needs the sun
By my side, I need you ***
You're the trunk that keeps me up
You're the half to fill my cup
You're the breeze to my exhausting days
You're my warmth, that I hope remains
You're my shelter from the rain
You're my pillow when things are insane
The eyes I need to see every morning
The cuddles I need when its outside pouring
