I long for you like the grass for the rain
And I remember that voice, as distinct as the sound of storms in the city, as the cars splash by
The thought of you will bring me pain
A mere shadow at the end of the hallway
Or the silence at the end of the day
Unnerving, reserved, wonderful
Like a phantom the image of you is fleeting
But I will always remember those blue eyes, and drowning in them
I can no longer hear you speak in the back of my mind
Yet your words feel like my own
Your voice feels like safety, like home
Now shrouded by fog
Perhaps we’ll meet again
Maybe just for one day

flowering, blossoming, blooming
yet again
a new story growing in front of me
slow, steady like a snail in a garden
peaceful and calm
exactly what i needed

so similar yet so different,
so easy to understand, yet i am still wondering
exciting , mysterious and holding me oh so tight
like warm rays of sun your presence is just
healing

connection as deep as roots, a new bond is formed
mother earth and father time
and you have it all
if you so choose
to take
it

Fine rain falls onto the reflection pool,
tiny ripples bouncing off each other,
transient touch.
Mist hangs on the mountains,
shrouds peaks.
A bell tolled out,
reverberating purity,
find peace in obscurity.
Daniel Magner 2020
Unless we tolerate,
We are not peaceful.

Unless we endure,
We are not patient.

Unless we let go,
We are not yet free.

Unless we trust,
We have no faith.

Unless we are compassionate,
We are not humane.

Unless we care,
We do not truly love.

Unless we love,
We have not actually lived.

Unless we understand,
We do not fully know.

Black cat on my lap
Give a kiss, give a laugh
Muffins while I knit my last

Black and white dog at my hip
Snoring while I take a sip
Coffee sweet upon my lip

Fiancé lying on the couch
Wondering what he thinks about
Reading book after book, no doubt

Boys safely tucked in bed
Kisses placed upon their head
Sleeping soundly, no'an ounce of dread

Simple, yet lost to so many...
Sorry, in a writy mood I guess...

I had a dream about my life once

Where I was dead

And it was alright
Out seaward to the  horizon I see Forgiving hills where lessons fade,
Projections of my desirous plea
Patiently await their farewell to bade,
Look now for at their peak the sun is setting,
With an orange hue caressed blue sky,
And white clouded streaks like thought forgetting,
Senses renewed—our demons die.
Can you see that place where intrigue resides,
Beyond those hills ‘neath the sky turned red?
For there the heaven and earth collides,
Pervading all hope in our angels stead.

When it's ”gone” it's gone
What is your ”gone” like
Will you know, if you don't know

I'm confused but peaceful as I wonder where mine went

Where is it?
UnitingWriting Nov 2019
It was on a cool summer night
That I really felt the need
To go some place I didn’t know
And wander on my feet
As I walked along the seaside
With a breeze upon my skin
Some quiet music in my ears
The outside air I breathed in
And what I smelled was like fresh rain
After a month of hot and dry
The world is peaceful when you leave it be
And walk towards
The sky

When the darkness of my heart,
Took over the shiny parts.
When the fog lifted,
The calmness of chaos sat in.

When I lost the dream colored glasses,
Only then I could really focus.
The Scowl  behind the smile,
The wretchedness of the mind.

I saw the colours of the faces,
The colours of people's heart.
The ugliness hidden behind,
The stony glittered mask.

Lost amidst the crowd,
The family of one.
All about the blood,
Emotions mattered to no one.

A mental struggle,
Faith losing the lustre.
Concerned about the health,
Why don't you see a doctor!?.

Open eyes...
Narrowed mind.
Push and pull of acceptance,
I hope you wouldn't mind!.

Couldn't stand out,
Wouldn't be among the crowd.
The final decision made,
It was.. which no one talked about!.
I would rather have a peaceful chaos than false calm....rather chose a fight than coward way out.
