I eventually found clarity on clear nights
The nights where the stars would tell stories of myself
One star told me that she saw me crying one night on the shores, she didn't have the heart to ask me why
Another star told me that she saw me pacing back and forth in my backyard asking myself why I was born
But there's one star that told me this story where he saw me laughing on the beach with some familiar faces. He said it was the first time he saw me smile that season. He saw me smile again when the meteors showed their face that night.
A meteor chimed in and said, 'We took our time that showing up that night because we saw a love rising. Multiple, actually. We saw your face light up more than our trails did every time he spoke."
I am writing this on behalf of my newfound happiness.

Outside with tea and blankets:
a Fortress against the

August cold.

And so begins another typically English evening.

night is marching,
marching on and

unusually

we are not glued to our phones
nor the daily grind.

we catch a handful of

Shooting Stars

and find that this is an addictive occupation.

One moment I wished I could drape my room with starry waterfalls
but then considered how they would

dull

       and

            darken

if I breathed too deeply in my sleep.

(a subconscious effort to absorb some starlight into my clotting veins.)

So leave me now under the
Flaming Sky and all its anger.

Leave me alone so that I may fall asleep,
at last.

I have an appointment with the moon about my dulling temperament.

The stars have sworn to let down a

my own Stairway to Heaven.

So rip my heart out,
let my arteries unwind.

Haul me to heaven with my umbilical cord.

There I cling to the back of a comet
and hurtle through space
alive at last and full of stars
until the nausea takes hold

and puts me to bed.
A poem I wrote a few weeks ago about watching the Perseid meteor shower in the garden with my mum.

A flaming grain birthed from heavens rage, did plant
Upon soft soil, and flames flowered upon the land.

Pollen of death did seed the air as all was consumed
In its beauty spreading its birth on new ground.

All who envisioned it where silenced, and ash was
There rebirth as they were as everything nothing.

A seed feel from the darkness and brought its birth
To our land, petals fell and silence rained down.

His eyes a forest, leaves and moss
Yours a sea, sky and butterfly wings
Both ringed by petals of moon daisy
From this satelite they look like
images of the Earth: blue, green, white, round, alive, spinning
Sun is placed in the middle of the daisy
They are rotating around again
Gave pieces of their hearts in phases
New crescent to first quarter, waxing gibbous to full moon and-
Moon stopped to a halt, it doesn't
want to move
As their eyes laced around the Sun
Came the solstice and equinox
Flowers turns to Sun turns to leaves turns to snowflakes
round and round, wheels within wheels, a cycle
The tears of sun gets into the sky of Earth when it cry
Earth is shut down and people start
hanging hopes and prays and wishes on drops of tears
When Earths is back they had
a piece of sea in their
Earth's a pretty place to observe
other planets we can't live in
Perfect start to fall in love with what's cramped in it people and places.

That Ghastly Star,
Leagues away stretched
Unique in sky, hovering etched.

Haze of gas
Infested by bacilli
Shrouded by countless specks.

Dull and Dying,
Consumed by time, hollowed by bore;
That blustering light shone no more.

I wonder what I am to do with my life.
Then, I see meteors.

Follow me. Where you ask?
Into the nest of me and he.
Lay your love. How strong you ask?
Like the depths of the ocean, and the strength of the sea.
Hold on. How tight you ask?
Like a meteor in the sky; fixed in space but free.

Beetles are just tiny black meteors
That tumbled from other galaxies
Sprouted legs and then began to trek round this planet
Making notes in their jotters about the weather and such
Checking charts and ticking boxes to confirm that
We'd ****** it all up here
