Hit me with that difference
between nodes and cores
and processors, between
being me and being sure.
Tell me again how to
calculate it, I missed the
first time, don’t shout--
remind me the difference
between comets and asteroids
and meteors, and how computers
and space are not the same
because to me it’s all voids--
the Perseids could be anything
as long as I get to watch
something else burn as it falls.
someone tell me that grad school is worth it
I’m flying around my pursuit
They want me to defend their time
But I’m too spaced out to pursue their answers
I have astronomers scoping me out
I would like to believe I’m that one shinning light
But they look at me as an asteroid
They want me to crash for their water
But I know my fate is to travel the unknown universe
I have a light so let me live my life right
she was like cedar
astonishing, but delicate.
a nice mixture of things.
but also easily dented and calloused
her eyes made of oceans
never know how deep they go
a melody on its own
a simple song
she was like a doe
graceful and elegant
but easily shot down
as if i was the hunter
worth more than the whole world in my hands
was the asteroid
He walked past skyscrapers and city lights
Passing the school every night.
"I'll still be here," He mumbled into the dusk
While asteroids blazed overhead.
Days followed by
In a solar system, running down.
The more he looked up -
The more he felt like gravity was letting loose
"Someday, somehow, we'll collide."
It was who they were.
They were on a collision course.
I am an asteroid
Stunned by the effects of your gravity
I lose myself in your atmosphere
But you hardly notice as I crash and burn
You were a fool big girl..
you were a fool…
Return to the land of the the four-thorned rose… become, exist somewhere else, with that flower that has been pulled from the soil so violently.
Live on your own asteroid, and water that rose.
But this time make sure your star will never been seen by any human or artificial eye.
Gravid with iron
Nimble in flight
They revere you so
Your steely frown
Rigid and dense
Oh, Astroid King
Your story retold
Is a tragedy
Unknown and alone
Nebulas, they glow
Satellites, they shine
But I, I cry for you
16 Psyche is an asteroid that scientists have identified in our solar system, which has enough iron to fuel planetary consumption for millions of years. The Earth may have as little as a century of mineable iron left, in contrast.
This poem was inspired by someone in particular.
A flaming grain birthed from heavens rage, did plant
Upon soft soil, and flames flowered upon the land.
Pollen of death did seed the air as all was consumed
In its beauty spreading its birth on new ground.
All who envisioned it where silenced, and ash was
There rebirth as they were as everything nothing.
A seed feel from the darkness and brought its birth
To our land, petals fell and silence rained down.
