He was sweet
Gentle
And Loving
She was bitter
Cold
And repressive
He gave her
Love
And much passion
But such things weren't of her fashion

He wondered what was wrong
But it was easy to see
That a woman like her
Wanted more than a man who would kneel on one knee

A woman like her could never be pleased
Because in this day and era it seems
That all that matters are those things evergreen

Late night game shows droning on
Frozen pizza boxes on the counter
Eyes fixated on that glowing screen
Communication has come to a halt
Is this all we're living for?

Homework scattered on the bedroom floor
Laying in bed and sleeping till 1
Never seeing the light of day
Is this all we're living for?

Let's make a new beginning
You and I
Where the birds still sing
And we watch the sun rise
Let's step outside of our comfort zones
Before loneliness eats us up
Take away the materialistic dream of the world
And create our own masterpiece

If all you've ever wanted was material things
and the perfect lover
with the adorable personality
who takes you on coffee shop dates
and buys your happiness
you are the problem with society

If all you've ever wanted was money,
money to buy that car,
or to travel to that place,
or to eat at that restaurant,
then you, my friend, are not part of the truth
Reality is that life is never what it seems
and these materials will some day turn to dust
along with you and I
Don't let materialism be your vice

I flaunt my clothes
You open your eyes
I bare myself
You close your mind

As awareness rescinds, (pulls back like the tide)
The screaming grows louder.
(Attention seeker, like a child).
As feet are lifted (atop hardwood
over concrete over bones)
Further from the earth we grow
(And feel.)
How can you hear them? Them, the beasts that protect life, over
All the static ringing electric currents
Flashing lights
?
Still, the water trickles.
(your Sun, still will he rise)
Whily heavy eyelids divert eyes.

Tantrum habits cry dry tears (those who've not been shaken to their core),
Beg for excess shave down years (this is not what it's all for)

Harvest season for the poor
Reaps more than plenty score for score.

Comfort now lies in divisions, don't cross my line! Come, clean my floor!
Up-nose scoffs toward open doors
(You're still welcome forevermore

Earth is not sorry for
Her mess.
You should
Be sorry for all of yours).

And the world
The world, it spins.

Santa murdered Christmas,
by excluding the Christ
and only caring about the Mass
of how much one can get.

No-one gives a **** about Christ anymore.
Myself included,
but I didn't need a perverted holiday
for that to be a thing.

It's 4am and I'm curled outside a train station, waiting for the sun to rise.
The city of Dublin can liven up your live, but the bitter cold is not something to smile about.
Is home life really this bad that I would want to starve myself, walk on cobbled streets all day until my feet are in agony with a feeling of terror.
Sitting on a park bench, I realized God was all I had.
Experiences like this make you realize what it is to have absolutely nothing and when one is tempted by a lifestyle of greed and materialism.

There is beauty in everything we see.
In every inch of every tree.

There is beauty in blades of grass.
Always growing while seasons pass.

There is beauty in the soil we spread.
To grow the things not in our head.

There is beauty in all of our minds.
We think the things we aren't able to find.

There is beauty in all of our hearts.
Seen with change that passions start.

We often are too worried about material things.
To notice the beauty that nature brings.
