                          The Baptism of Valaria Elizabeth

At the Altar
The young couple presented their first-born
Valaria Elizabeth, wrapped in a silvery gown
A happy child at play in the holy Jordan

At the Altar
Valaria Elizabeth, delightful in herself
Was glorious in white with many colors trimmed
And skillful stitchings as befit a queen

At the Altar
Someone asked Valaria’s dear mother
Did you craft this gown with love and thread?

“No, I bought it just yesterday,” she sweetly said

                        Welcome with love, Valaria Elizabeth!
Happiness!
As we immerse ourselves in this ecstatic embrace,
calling upon the stars; hoping they too know our name
—they bear witness to our passion, twinkling with joy
as they watch us revel in the depths of our blissful affection.

And in their silent presence, we are reminded of
the vastness of the universe and the infinitesimal yet
profound impact of our love. We lie there, bathed in
the shimmering light of the stars, we cannot help
but plan for the future.
That big tree shaking the leaves
In big long strong branches of green
Showing its magnificent shape
Bending softly and kind.

That huge landscape realm
Where no eye could escape
Has put my conscience in bloom
Of poems and serenity mind.

Now that the sun went away
And left magic silhouettes with me
I no longer feel that strange feeling.

I just want to do day after day
The same kind of dance as the tree.
Feel all the joy and to swing.

Summertime brings forth a wondrous season
Where charms of nature suddenly arise
A tapestry of beauty is reason
For wonder and laughter beneath blue skies

The trees display with joyful sway their glee
As canopies of leaves rustle a song
Their branches dance the summer jubilee
As echoes of laughter sing all day long

The hues displayed in grand flowers arrayed
Burst forth in brilliance, a kaleidoscope
Fragrant whispers pervade the air conveyed
Senses enchanted with promise and hope

Babbling we now hear, streams and rivers near
Their melodies a symphony so sweet
A lullaby so dear, removes all fear
As sparkling waters kiss the sun’s retreat

Summertime sets the sight of pure delight
With wonder, peace and beauty shining bright
The fun of summertime!

I said yes
To anchovies
To heights
To late nights
And climbing walls
I said yes
To friends
To strangers
To long distances
And strange roads
I said yes
To joy
To grief
To anger
And to love.

But most of all
For the first time ever
I said yes
To me

If my thoughts can lead
To depression,
And from our thoughts, we speak,
I revolt against my thoughts;
I have become my joy!
My heart fills, and
I am full of love,
My posture lifts,
I am full of hope,
My movement quickens,
I see opportunities, and
I will become my joy.
I am joy!
Perhaps I have gotten lucky twice
It’s hard to imagine so
But I’m sure of it, it’s something I know
The same kind of luck like the roll of a dice

The first was knowing you
Of all the places I could have been
Of all the towns I could have wound up in
That was the first of many clues

The second was to love you
Who would have thought that of us
To think if I’d never got on that bus
All my days may have been blue

So perhaps I have gotten lucky twice
It’s hard to imagine so
But I’m sure of it, it’s something I know
The same kind of luck, like the roll of a dice
I never wanted any of this
I didn’t see for it
What would I have missed
What more could you fit

Now it’s almost as if I’m blinded
How could anything but you have a prettier glow
Maybe I should resort to being empty minded
Or is it better to know?

When I’m around you I can’t pretend
My walls are down and I’m there stuck
I question if my heart could ever mend
Yet I gamble on fool’s luck

Dreaming of the days to come
Quietly understanding that there may be non
Hoping they won’t leave me numb
Patiently waiting until the day is done

For love is a flick and a flame
Each step leads to a darker night
There is no true one to blame
And so, we become each other’s light
Birds dyed in neon colours tweet
Enchanting tunes
As if they attempt to invoke
Morning's presence.
Hi... can you beam a smile for me?
