Holy hell I hate you,
we sit,
we laugh,
we lie,
about what we should love.
But I know that you do not love me,
you despise me like a Jew in Germany.
You know I do not love you,
for I despise you like a Palestinian in Isreal.
Holy hell we hate one another,
and we both know,
but we lie,
and say we agree with one another,
while we **** each other.
Holy hell I ******* hate you,
how could you do this,
how could you lie,
how could you not care,
how could be be like me.

It is definitely not just me
Who finds these people lacking
In spine, morals, sincerity;
Why do we tolerate their slacking?

Behaviour we should abhor
Due to its outrageous hypocrisy,
Yet these people represent us
In what we call our democracy.

Our voice must be much louder
To gain some true control
Over the ducking and diving
Politicians have taken as their role.
Totally on board with democracy but a crying shame that the majority of our politicians are not what we deserve....quick wins instead of future health is damaging to any country. Who would run a successful business like this and expect it to run well and in the interests of its stakeholders?

They tell you to smile all the time
But then wonder why the hell you're smiling all the time, saying it makes you look suspicious

They tell you to tilt your head and you'll see things a little bit different
But then wonder what the hell is wrong with your neck

They tell you to speak your mind
But then wonder why the hell you're not shutting up

They tell you it's okay to be different
But then wonder why the hell a guy's wearing make up

They tell you to follow your dreams
But then wonder why the hell you're always sleeping

They tell you to stand up for what you believe in
But then wonder why the hell you refuse to sit down

They tell you all these goddammed double standards
But then wonder why the hell you don't listen

Too long have I been a victim
A target of your judgement
As you whisper behind your hands
And laugh behind your Bibles

But you know naught of my life
You know nothing
Nothing of my burdens
Or the story that’s built me
So how do you sit and hate what you do not know
Does your ignorance blind you so?

Your audacious judgement to be cast
Upon anyone different from you
The way I dress, speak
The choices I make
They don’t measure up to your devices

Too long and too often have I fallen prey to those like you
For eons have I tried to fit into your Christian circles
But I have lived
I have sinned
I have borne your hate
And I have overcome
I no longer desire to be part of your hypocrisy
No longer long to be part your elite
Yet now you ask for my company
For I have become one of your charities
But I’m sorry you’re out of luck
Cause frankly I no longer give a

Until they change their mind
Because it is written.
This poem could have been a lot longer, but it's bedtime.

Dear society,
       I followed you so blindly.
You did not treat me kindly.
Left alone yet taunted.
I was dead yet haunted.
You filled me full of pain.
It provides you no gain.
Then you drew up these bars.
And you let me carve these scars.
If it takes a community to raise a child. Well then I would prefer to be wild
Society, the center of hypocrisy.
The reflection of vanity.
The meal for Gluttony.
The provider of adultery.
The one we envy.
The antagonist that makes us angry.
The couch for us to be lazy.
The seller to the greedy.
Oh society, you will do us in.
You and the 7 deadly sins.
                 Hate you,

Bro
In the safety
Of sanctity
I deride and derail
Snort derisive
Sweet Jesus and me
Laughing at everyone
Especially you.

All that image
All that you planned
Sure and He's everywhere
Watching the water rise
Estimating your worth
Cashing in on you.

Your van and your force-fed crew
Nobody ever wanted to out and out *******
But I think Jesus has had enough
And He's going to lose you in the rough
The rough, rough rain
Like a hurricane
Gonna call your number up.

This pigeon on my shoulder
You call Jesus and He strolls on over
Say your piece and He shrugs nonchalant
I don't believe you have anything He wants.

You're just a stupid ****
With ten times the luck
And Jesus sees you
You better believe it, Bro, you are seen
Jesus snorts derisively
Jesus snorted all the coke outta me.

He attempts to reiterate
Love thy brother and grant fresh starts
But chokes on the dust
And laughing hysterically
Points meaningless fingers
At what He thinks might matter.

Jesus is as Jesus does
A man subscribed to most of this mess
Having a good ol' time
His direction is half the crime.

It could be
It could be, Bro
You been walked down some line
Told this, this, that, and have a good time
Lied to and trialled, smiled at and lied to
Eating some man-made celestial ****
Yep, that's you.
Bible says it's true
So true
Bible says a lot of ****
Lots of ****
Yeah
That's you.
royal purple
around my eyes
cough out my lungs
***** my guts

rage
fills my heart
and I just want to disappear
fight my fear
social anxiety
don't leave me alone

somehow
my words repeat
themselves
and
my thoughts repeat
themselves
but that is just me and how I feel
I try and solve it but it is too hard
sometimes.

crosswords of words I could never free from the cage in my mouth
pigeons of peace
empty of hope

Good job!
You went to church for Grama on Sunday

...And you texted the whole service

Good job!
You helped out and watched your siblings

...And showed them R-rated movies

Good job!
You wore a Bible verse T-shirt to school

...After buying it with stolen cash

Good job!
You got a purity cross necklace to wear

...Then "hooked up" that same night

Good job!
You got a brand new Bible

...And stored it under your bed with the rest of your " junk"

Good job!
You visited your church's website

...And bookmarked it right beneath *******

Good job!
You went to that Bible-study group

...And afterward, to a party

Good job!
You turned down a smoke while you were there

...'Cause at the time you were just thirsty

Good job!
You prayed at the dinner table

...To get your turn over with for the week

Good job!
You call out to God before falling asleep

...To blame Him for your problems

Good job!
You plan on going to church again tomorrow

Just don't forget your cell-phone

Good job, Christian
Keep it up.

*from my Emerge collection, being poem #7. Please see the collection page itself.

This poem is one I've never felt quite satisfied with, yet it's a concept I want to address in this same basic form. Now that my poetry and mind has matured more, I may re-write this as a new poem addressing the issue I intended to in this one, in an improved, or heavier, more emotional, or more clear way. I'm not sure.
Line 18 originally said "under *******", but I thought that could come across as the bookmark bearing that name, rather than the new bookmark being beneath it in the least, to signify lesser priority as added weight to the hypocrisy.

I'm okay with you sharing my poetry, I just ask that you show courtesy by being honest and attributing it to my name. Thank you,

just be yourself
unless yourself is a ****** ***** *****
unless who you are
rocks the boat
because we don’t to get splashed
unless who you are makes us uncomfortable
climb down from that edge who do you think you are?
this isn’t a movie. grow up
as long as that is who you are
just be yourself
as long as who you are wears the same uniform
with the same lapel patches and flare
just be yourself
unless whoever the hell that is does better than me
the only thing more dangerous than a mob
is an envious mob
so who you are better be modest and humble
and mumble those bumbling opinions
because we don’t want to hear anything
we want to be told
just be yourself
unless you are afraid of social pariah exile lifestyles
be yourself but keep that trap shut
because this is a game of respect
and we are all your elders so stand up straight and tuck that shirt in
listen up kid you’ll never make it with that attitude
so shut the hell up and eat your vegetables
just be yourself
here’s ‘being yourself for dummies’ just to help
one tip - yourself better not be top shelf
talented is another word for targeted
so be yourself -
so long as yourself is a commodity we can sell
for high profit margins
to kids who are just trying to figure out
how the hell they can be themselves
