You are burdened
By time,
Your presence is unknown.
But what matters,
My lover,
Is how you grow.

Don’t fret,
Or try to forget
Of a time felt alone.

Be still,
My lover,
For a heartache is known.

But time ,
By your side,
Will guide your way home.
This poem is simply about acceptance of the past and the possible pain that we feel at present. We tend to ignore our own feelings of despair from past experiences, but we must embrace those feelings, as they will offer us growth and resilience to other battles we may face.
Sarah Richardson Dec 2023
Nestled in his arms, I've found a quiet place,
A refuge for my weary soul to rest.
Within his gentle gaze, anxieties erased,
My racing mind is soothed, concerns addressed.
When self-doubt winds its tangled vines around,
And life's complexities leave me spent,
His strong embrace is the shelter I have found,
Where desolation’s grasp cannot extend.
Behind those eyes lies an eternal sea,
Of wisdom, truth, and purity so rare.
Each moment with him reveals more to me,
Of passion's tide we joyfully bear.
Through every twist of fate our lives have known,
Paths destined to meet, forever to have grown.
I’ve fallen in love

My lover,
Don't let go.
From sun to snow,
Through seasons
We flow.

Please , don’t let go.

Let hearts be full
In times of dull.
For time shall still
As our souls fill,

With love and light for you and I.

Now take my hand,
If you will.

And don't let go.
I didn't want to sleep when I'm next to you
I couldn't dare to close my eyes
Fearing I might have to sleep away my occurring living action dream
I was afraid, I might have to not see you ever again
Like a dream
It might perish

So I stayed awake
Had a closer look at your features
Tender soft looking expression
Squishy sleepy babyface
Lips that I wanted to kiss more
But I hesitated
I didn't want to wake you up

I felt peace for awhile during that day
Your presence brought peace into my personal territory and it felt nice

I touched your face
Poked your nose
Felt your beards with my fingertips
They went rushing to your chest
Your heart was beating fast
I wished the moment lasted longer

I wasn't sure
If I was dreaming
Or daydreaming
Or going all delusional from my madness
But I loved it, every single second
And I wish it could happen again

But then
I woke up again the next day
Feeling
unhappy
Empty
You weren't next to me

I,
Am lost.
Lost in this world
Of chaos.

Yet my mind
Has soothed me.
Like pretty skies,
And blooming daisies.

Feel warmth
Through hazy dreams.
Leave burdens
To die in sleep.

Birds pecking softly
Through greenery.

As I can only see
This world as futile,
And bleak.

But I,
In my mind,
Can live in peace.

If only one,
Could show me the way.

Without toxins
Circling my brain.

Without slurring
Words that I say.

Without praying
For my last day.

Without digging
An awaiting grave.

Without feeling myself
Wither away.

But today is the day,
I put this all at bay.

As I travel to the land
Of safe haven.

That is where I will stay.
This poem is a very personal one for me, as I am surrounded by loved ones who suffer/suffered with addictions. They have overcome so many obstacles and I am forever proud of them. If you can relate to this, please know that you are not alone. I am proud of you too, always.

Before the sun ascends
Through dawn's first clouds.
Hold on to the now pastel sky-
Of a late November morning.

Let the waking world below
slowly warm your spirit,
Play a song to soothe the pain / remember, but don't fear it-

All this beauty of what is to come
can only ever be made real
When shared with those who understand
Intrinsic- all you feel.
as you gracefully swing
in the breeze, with a chill
that simply brings us
closer to the way we want
to be.

The rivers can wait
til you choose the time
and let your hair down
to glimmer and flow in
the sun.

The birds can hush
and sleep soundly
tonight in the warmth of
your song that makes
young ones dream.

The bees have only
the second best sweets
compared to the scent
of your hugs on
my arm.

The stars won’t do
on an evening like this
when your eyes hold
the shine of a dozen
lives lived.

My heart can stop
and gasp in awe
as your love tickles
mine like a nuzzle
or sneeze.

And I can rest lightly
in blissful glee with
the thought of your
lips pressed up next to
my cheek.
for my person.

If I could
Be one with the mountain,
Or one with the sun,
I would.

If I could
Send love
To flowers,
Bloom them for hours,
I would.

If I could
Cherish the waters,
Clean them with my bare hands.
Count every grain
Of undying sands,
I would.

For nature,
Is given.
A present
Tied gently with a ribbon.

As the beauty of living,
Is seeing Earth's vision.
This poem is a personal one for me, as I have connected greatly with nature and wish to appreciate every aspect of it. I hope you all enjoy it!

The light,
It caves into me.

Chirping birds
And buzzing bees.

I feel free
Of sickness,
Sadness,
To the highest of degree.

The light brighter
Than the sunshine we see.

My joy
Taller than the tallest tree.

Yet it still grows,
Up it goes,
As it perches behind me.

As I sit
Beneath the meadows
Of yellow,
With children bellowing
Sweet melodies
Around me.

I believe
And receive,
Life's joy through my body.

I am in light,
And full of delight,

That this is what life can truly be.
