Broken Pieces Nov 2020
The green grass meadow where I go to play,
A place where I can take my fears away.
A place where the sun always shines brightly,
And the grass kisses my skin ever so slightly.

The beautiful flowers brightly in bloom,
I don’t have to worry about the coming doom.
The sky so brightly blue above,
It makes me feel so in love.

Here in the meadow I am not alone,
Because here with me are my friends I call home.
Together we lay in the grass having fun,
Pointing at clouds and admiring the sun.

“It's not easy being green", Kermit the Frog once said.
Since yellow and blue make this color, is it better to be them instead?

I have been blue once or twice.
It did not feel good, did not feel nice.

Sad and alone is what blue means to me.
Blue is the color I never want to be.

Yellow is another color I have endured.
It made me feel ashamed, confused, and unsure.

Coward and no backbone is what I know,
is my experience with being yellow.

And just like Kermit, I have been green on an occasion.
It's an emotion that’s hard to give an explanation.

Jealous, spiteful, angry, and mean,
is what I felt while being green.

So maybe all these colors I need to ignore.
None of them are easy to be, of this I am sure.

Thank-you green stream
Thank-you for being so green
Thank-you for being 'glean'
For the watermeal, the wolffia
and the onomatopoeia
Notes from taking 5 minutes to absorb the colour of a bright green stream brimming with life on a woodland walk this morning

I see you in every color, in each color, I find you.

Red? What a dainty strawberry, a beautiful cherry, the blush on my cheeks when I see you.
Orange? You're a sunset, a sunrise, a lovely fall leaf, I burn for you.
Yellow? The sun itself, the stars, the bright spot in an otherwise dark day.
Green? The forest, the woods, you grow with my love for you.
Blue? You are the sea, the sky, the water I need to survive.
Purple? A ripe plum, the lilac and the lavender, what I see when our lips meet.
White? The clouds, lightning, the paper on which I write my poem.
Black? Daring and elegant, the darkness holds me when you cannot.
Gray? The sleek metal, the packaging, what keeps my thoughts together.
Brown? The trees, the dirt, the background, that which is always there.

The shades and tints of life weave millions of you around me.

Whenever you feel your mind stress
A simple sip of green tea will do the trick

I used to think that life and death were the only handmaidens for the body. That the sun and moon rose upon it and nothing else. I knew that the brain did not separate consciousness. Yet the sun and moon still set upon it. And so, cruelty and despair demanded reconciliation with an all loving Father, turning hi to shrieks of wrath.

But it could not be so, for a child's dream is real only until he wakes. It could not e so, because water seeks its own level. It could not be so because of the love I have for the world, and because I did not create myself.

A dark scene, somewhat mean
Lines between
Oxycarbazepine.
Sounds acute, ***** boots,
A room bare
And destitute.
Now my friend’s clean
And serene,
Skies blue and flowers green.
Astute, cute,
Plays the flute,
Sometimes you take the longest route.

my dear, do not worry
too often
your flower is still young —
green, barely has it rooted.
the time will come
you will flourish,
as it will bloom.
i hope you are well.

Today I saw an SUV
Coming along the side of me
Nothing sports or utility
Just a driver full of futility

He's in a rush
That's all I know
Foot on the pedal
Gas to the flow

I'll let him pass
I don't drive fast
There is no rush
No need to crush

The next time you see an SUV
Don't think of me
Think of the planet and going green
Inside an SUV is nowhere to be seen
The SUV is the fastest growing car category globally and contributes the most to polution.

Her hair red like soil
And eyes green like springs clover
Skin sun-kissed and dotted like stars in the night sky
And man oh man
Her imagination was endless
And words constantly dripping from her tongue
Her smile never fading
She talked to the trees and the flowers
She was lonely and they were her company
I am in love with every last bit of her
The way she sniffed the air
To smell all the beautiful smells of the crisp cold breeze of fall
The way she nibbles at chocolate and sips tea
when she studies
She's clever and bright
Her mind is worth its weight in gold
And there aren't enough words to describe
The comfort I feel when she graces me with her presence
