Thirty tear-splashed pages
My response with runny ink
Not us anymore, don't you think?
Fire consumed it in a blink

You just left me!
Okay, you had a chance
You could not pass up
For our romance
I get that but...

I said someday I'd marry you
You threw it right in my face
So I'm the non-Greek Catholic geek?
Well, stick this in your Orthodox socks
You'll never again disgrace
This young Irish fool!

Sated, but not happy anymore
I am quick out the bed, going home
After pleasing another random girl
I AM good enough for
To see you swish and twirl
Through my rattled dome
But I hope you sense or know
How I just made HER toes curl

How could you say
Over a year every day
How much you loved me
But at the last drive away
Like I'm just a roll in the hay?

How could you tell me
I'm just for college
I'm a temporary smidge
That we're not bound to be

You give us short time
Then leave for half of it
You tell me "Have a nice life!"
But you get a pass for it?
And I'M that hole kid!?
What's that bull
*
?!

It is just nuts!
Am I too poor and not tan?
Am I too pale to be your man?
So what! SO WHAT!

How could you dis me like that
Dismiss me like that
And then give an act
Like I hurt YOU so bad?

Making it all so breezy
You pop up and ask me to visit you
'Cause I have to show YOU something?
After telling ME I can't be your Everything!
And rolling away like I'm NOTHING!
Dancing to your same tune
For you, leaving was easy!

Now, Little Rich Girl
Write and tell me about your adventures
I will listen awhile
In lands I dream to see, but cannot be
You spoiled child

Tell me how great it is
Tell me how your heart is light
Tell me it all
I want to hear it, right?
Yeah. Not a'tall

Tell me where you go
While I do the same crap
We did back here
While I stay trapped
Your outgrowing shows

I give up. I'm done.
You are NOT the One
I'm not writing
Even one letter, "My Friend"
That I will send

I'm not the stupid kind
I see the request to write back
Jump through the hoops you stack
Maybe you want me back
I read between lines

I can hear you again
I can sense your smell
I see your face, taste your lips...

**** it all to HELL!

Where's my pen?!
The core of this poem was written about 25 years ago this fall. There was someone very special who had knocked me flat, and this somewhat incoherent piece was my reaction to her fist letter since we broke up. I got really drunk that night. I was really po'd....

She of moonfire
Entranced by her sleeping prince
Hands on heart, serene

This haiku is dedicated to Selene, Goddess of the Moon.
I love Selene for many reasons but what cemented my love for her was none other than Sailor Moon!
I love how their story is depicted in the manga and anime, Usagi and Selene will always have a special place in my heart.
Of course I grew up with the myth of her crushing ******* Endymion, Zeus granting her wish to keep the Shepard ageless while in eternal sleep and she sired 50 daughters which really weirded me out. So Ive somewhat rewritten the myth in mind.
Even so, Im grateful for Selene.
As much as I'm a logophile and biblophile , I'm very much a selenophile ^-^

Sheer silks rise and fall
Pleasure wrapped in dulcet tones
Joy beads down her brow

This haiku is dedicated to Hedone, the Goddess of Pleasure.
Other than her being the daughter of Cupid and Psyche, there isnt much on her either. Pleasure has many connotations, mich like her own name also so what better way than to play around with it!
These haikus sure are fun to do!

Merry Jul 2020
A star-crossed son was born
To the father whom he would ****
And to the mother whom he would kiss
In incestuous, marital vow one day

Welts upon his feet
Found in the forest, a baby crying,
He grew wise and wrong
Unaware of a conspired world

When Oracles did speak to him
As drunken men and and as pretty women
He took their words upon his heart
Without eyes gouged and necks broken

Open eyes looking, truly seeing,
He did bear the revolting truth
Without nary complaint
To the Gods who cursed him

Thus, it was Laius who lived
And it was Polybus who died
And it was Jocasta who did not see
Her son at the bejewelled altar

Rather, it was Merope, with her head turned,
Who saw dear Oedipus at the altar
Obeying the Will of the Gods
But to what ends?

He was meant to punish; to defy; to incite all evils
Not adhere to this cruel destiny
And now it is the wrong mother-wife
Whom he kisses, unravelling, in linen sheets
anyone else wonder about what would happen to these characters' fates had Oedipus obeyed his fate? it wouldn't work, of course, because Laius had to be punished but still. I'm curious.

Honey-kisssed curls dance
Calm, she whistles while she works
Nectar on her lips

This haiku is dedicated to Melissa, the Goddess of Honey.

Another goddess who I adore even though there isn't much about her either. Anytime I see bees, I like to think that its Melissa calling them as their Queen, haha! I always love to live in a world of make believe.

Bolt-haired and moon-skinned
Kiss of dew nourish the Earth
Flora sweetened now

This haiku is dedicated to Ersa aka Herse, the Goddess of Dew.
There isnt much about her myth wise but still, I want to give every woman of myth love they much deserve! She's the daughter of Zeus of Selene but still she fascinates me, haha!
Thank you so so much for 367 followers, I'm honestly speechless and grateful! πŸ™πŸŒΉπŸ’œ

Eos

Dawn with rose fingers
Stars glimmer in lounging eyes
She weeps from heartbreak

Haiku for the day!
This one is for Eos, Goddess of Dawn.
Another unfortunate who was jealously cursed by love for fall for those who do not want her in turn...
Im taking it easy but expect more freeverses from me soon! I'm honestly grateful for the love and support. πŸ™πŸŒΉπŸ’œ

angel tears fill rivers full
and pull bulls full/
of broken bones and stones
oh, how Perillos shone
pledged life to the throne
Cruel, merciless Rome/
and fell to his death
with one last shuddering breath
said,
"they'll **** you yet"

In running water
She prepares her healing hands
Work upon the sick

Feeling better and back at it again!
I'll try to do these at least once a day now.
This haiku is for Hygeia, Goddess of Good Health.
Another one of my favourite goddess, I really adore her haha!

flowers bloom in the kitchen sink
where she lays with her eyes
sinking into her hollow skull.
β€˜what happened?’ he asks, his hand over his mouth-
horrified-
and a voice answers,
β€˜the pit inside her
grew and grew
until it was no longer just a pit-
it was Tartarus,
and it swallowed her whole.’
