R.I.P.
by Michael R. Burch

When I am lain to rest
and my soul is no longer intact,
but dissolving, like a sunset
diminishing to the west ...

and when at last
before His throne my past
is put to test
and the demons and the Beast

await to feast
on any morsel downward cast,
while the vapors of impermanence
cling, smelling of damask ...

then let me go, and do not weep
if I am left to sleep,
to sleep and never dream, or dream, perhaps,
only a little longer and more deep.

Published by Romantics Quarterly and The Chained Muse. This is an early poem from my “Romantic Period” that was probably written in my late teens. Keywords/Tags: death, eternity, eternal rest, sunset, west, demons, beast, judgment, sleep, dream, nightfall, night, throne, vapor, vapors, impermanence

"Want to stop the world,
This moment" she whispered
In to my ear, mantra like.
And it did, before I could even
Get astonished  on  what happend.

A sonorous hum, kept ringing
Deep in my being, then in a flash
Was revealed our sublime bonding
With the  eternal;  we are one
And the music of eternity plays in us all.

Your loving hands dried up my tears,
And water droplets no longer blur my vision.

Your caring hands removed my blindfold,
And I can see you now as clear as day.

Your powerful grace transformed my frozen heart,
And it now beats to the rhythm of your love.

Ever since I stopped running,
Ever since I stopped and accepted my mistakes,

I have been able to forgive myself,
                                  Love myself,
                                  And just be
                                                      Me
                                                       Authentically.
       I was so lost,
                 But I’ve been found.

I’m holding onto you
                                      With both hands
                                                                   And a tight grip
I will never
                     Let
                          You
                                Go

Because if I lose you, then I will lose myself.

I love you King Jesus. Forever and Always.

in whispered words
you sing along with
the song of my heart

unconcerned with tune
or harmony
a simple chorus
in unison

the reverb swells
as the presence
multiplies
you and i and love;
with Spirit
adding contrabass
more felt than heard

Of dust both stars and we are born and so to all will each return.
But in between, dust gives a heart a need for loves' enduring yearn.
In times' course on cosmic scale all particles are drawn to another one.
And so stars and love set adrift, until once more, all but dust is gone.
How can dust become love, desire, passion? From its vastness to create that feeling between two hearts.... and yet in that vastness in the scheme of things.... so fleeting the experience and its brightness..... to dust.

With lips wine red;
and face white-skinned,
and ***** perfectly fitted,
alongside curvy graced hips
And a lavender scent to match...
Her beauty doth glows
Like that of a new born
Brought into the world
So innocent and meek
But yet ravishing
In the most sweetest way I'd ever seen

For even in the shadows,
Her beauty is never concealed
And even when darkness prevails,
it overcomes every bits

Like the roses blooming in the meadow,
and the sun shining from whence it's placed;
So shall my love for you be
Never ending,
and forever eternal
For as long as I've always got you with me,
I wouldn't ask for anything else,
My sweet sweet Amor.

2-FOREVER WITH YOU
Love's True Beauty
The poem centers more on the beauty love has to offer. The poet personae in this part of my poem, compares the beauty of his lover to that of love, which is sweet and magnificent in every way. Here, he goes deeper into confessing his undying love for her and how he'll never stop loving her, no matter what happens....

Love and war's eternal kismet
are forever bound
They are hand
in hand

Still under the weather but feeling somewhat better today!
I hope to get back to some more women of myth poems soon
Hopefully after this week passes, I can resume...
My nerves are still raw on the surface.
Stay safe and well everyone
Much love

What can I promise
The rain out of the window
Or the cloud in the sky

What can I promise
The beauty of a flower
Or the firework at night

They all come and go
Leave my dream alone
All I can promise is
God's eternal love
For what I have felt
The serenity and joy
Unlike others
He comes and never say bye
