Like me, I may like you too.
Hate me, I may like you more.
Ignore me, I may be your dream.
Love me, I may kiss you in front of them.
Be with me, I will marry you.

I cannot express myself
Not the way letters have sounds
And the way words have means
Because means have ends.

I cannot find a way to define my experience
Because definitions have conditions
And every definition is defined
By one mans minds eye.

I cannot find my voice
Because the keys are in the Kingdom of my choice
And if my choices are made in duty to the words you say

How can my words carry voice?

It's easy to be good at many things,
It's sad to be known for just a few;
It's alright to try everything once,
But it's hard to be an Ace among the crew.

It does take a lot of courage
To accept the norms and later pine;
But to stand up to what you believe in--
That takes a hell of a thick spine!

People call it arrogance,
To walk away from the crowd;
But with time, the one who walked away,
Is the one who walks proud.

Free will is an illusion for many,
It's a social necessity to walk in a herd;
Society accepts you on its own conditions--
Which if not fulfilled, you remain unheard...

There's a monarchy of tradition,
That feeds a monopoly of disappointment;
It's your charity to their egos,
That secures your appointment!

Go, find where you belong,
Amidst this raging tide;
Swim through the mailstorm,
Pull at the chains that keep you tied.

Break free of those psych bonds,
Move out into the light;
Rid yourself of that ancient poison,
And proclaim your own path as right.
It takes strength of character,
And a lot of effort on your part;
To sail smooth through this life,
And still listen to your heart...

I’m sideways, middle ground burned and left and right beyond reproach so I take no stand against a stand against anything that might be controversial and those thoughts won’t go away no matter how much I rebel because you instil so much that I never wanted to learn because all I want to learn is that you love me without taking a stand, without conditions, without thought.

Why do we cling to the questions that bear no answer?
Why do we push away the one's we care for?
Why do we live free, but die slaves?
Why is this life, not enough?
Why am I not enough?

All those moments spent in night,
I could better invest in both of us,
Yes that was a definite time waste,
Because they were spent this way,
Lit only by darkness of negatives,
This was possible if at all we had,
Met in a different conditions set.

I wonder if when Thomas Jefferson scrawled out the Declaration he could see the world that I have come to know.

I wonder if he would understand the nation that would blossom from under his inflammatory words.

Would he know that the world would never be so simple as black and white if only because a racial lawsuit might come from it?

Would he see the world burn up in a digital fire that no nostalgia would ever be able to quench?

Would he know the society that would simultaneously spew rantings of "You're special" and "You are never going to be right enough to live here"?

How about that war that taught the people that it's okay to hate those who fight so that you can love another day?

Or even the world that has severed so deeply within its own walls that you can only hold on to you hearts and hope that might not be severed too?

I wonder what this man could have been declaring so seriously that he would send men to war for it, just to have the papers he and his dear friends were writing on be the shield that politicians might use to prevent their fallout.

Freedom is not objective. And Subjectively speaking, this freedom we've been given comes with about ten thousand terms and conditions that none of us are going to read anyway because this is Amurica and we don't do that here.
