I met love with open arms,
embracing it without alarms.
Caution to the wary ghouls,
the table top is not for fools.
She tasted sweet, felt smooth,
and this heaven was mine.
Life is loose and uncouth,
love isn't only cheese and wine.

Through my eyes she was immortal
and had nothing but lucky charms.
In her presence, there was a portal
to a place where we'd do no harm.
She tasted sweet, felt smooth,
and we'd meet on cloud nine.
Life is loose and uncouth,
love isn't only cheese and wine.

In the end, it all hit the ground,
bliss can't make up for love not found.
My feelings made her face the music,
she did something to shatter my heart.
She was sweet, moved smoothly,
and she could have been my one and only.
Life is loose and uncouth,
and love's not only cheese and wine.

I'd like a tasty toastie,

Filled with scalding hot cheese,

The sort of food that burns your mouth,

Yet somehow continues to please.

The pleasure is mine
in a glass of wine

My pleasure is you
in the things that you do

The pleasure is ours
in all the shared hours
we are able to spend together

They're worth more than gold
or riches untold
a pleasure we'll treasure for ever

Macaroni and cheese,
It will never cook for me,
It is a pimple on the face of humanity

The water is too watery,
The fire is too firey
The cheese is never too cheesy

Macaroni is the goal that I can never reach
It is the bird that will not screech
I think I want some peach.

Peach cobbler
Always such a blunder…
Are you overcooked-- or under?
Write a poem about cooking or baking -- something delicious, something that didn't turn out, something burned, something better than expected, something simple, something beyond reason, a surprise, a treat, an old favorite, a brand-new dish.

I am so hungry, it isn't even funny anymore. Include at least three metaphors and/or similes in a poem no longer than 15 lines. (Keep in mind that your poem is about the creation of the dish itself.)

When I think of rain I think of you
And the night that it all began
The thundering dismantling of everything that was once
“us”.

The overpowering hymn of the rain
Crashing onto the hood of your pickup
I’m gripping you firmly up against
And as my cries crack into the air
Striking you right there
Making your feelings
Spark.

You really did it this time.
You ****** up because
I ****** up because
You ****** up because
I ****** up because
You ****** up because
I ****** up because
You ****** up because
Who started it?
I can’t remember and it doesn’t matter but
It's easier to say
YOU ****** up .

Everything ceases
And in a flash
I am melting into you
And I only smell the sweet spirit of fresh grass
And the damp cotton bonding to your shoulders
And your breath pressed against mine
And the harmony of
“us”.

That hot spring storm
Was the day have melted a little too far.
We became a flood.
And we drowned in
"us".

You have been with me from the start soft
Hard, never bothered which one you were
When I was young at heart.

I used to pull you my second brain, little soft
Then long and hard,as I grew, you grew with
Me a friend that never left. Only in the cold I
Wondered where you are.

The years did pass and hair you grew, where
Once I had pulled, now you just went hard.
Embarrassed I was as always hard around
The girls, some laughed while others played
With it spitting at them when excitedly hard.

Age moved on my friend for life still with me
Still getting hard but when I wanted you no
More embarrassment on my face at random hard.

My second brain, getting wasted each day, never
Unclean as cheesy smell I do not want as girls would
Run a far.

We played in the wetness we have come so far letting
The children out in the damp park. My wife screamed
Harder deeper my god your big I love your hardness
Up me and the children were excited out of the umbrella
They went a bit to far.

You have been with me through the soft and the
Hard, got me in trouble, now three children later
I must end your spitting but you can still go hard.

***** your my friend to the end when we had no
One a palm and a video was are night in, then softly
You went as to sleep in my palm, from the beginning
Through the soft and the hard.
Thought I'd have some fun as last few have been darkish poems.
All my late night rendezvous
Have since been eclipsed
By stable days and nights with you.
You save me from the spiders in my shoes,
And when storm clouds start grumbling, I save you.

And I know that this sounds cheesy--
But I don't care. I don't care!
Because I happen to know you ******* love cheese.
And for you babe,
I'll be the best cheese.

I'll be thy holy Swiss cheese,
I'll be your buttered Brie.
And when we've aged 50 years?
Well then babe,
I'll be your ******* Gouda.

At least, that's what I want to be
If you'll let me.
I want to be the finest cheese your tongue has ever tasted.
So lay your wine-stained lips on me;
Let's see how we pair.
After finding my soulmate, my inspiration to write sort of dried up. I no longer had the heartache and pain that had fueled me for so many years. So this poem is dedicated to my love, who makes me feel safe, and at ease.
