they say men are from Mars
and women are from Venus
but i wonder what takes so long
for us to cross paths
perhaps
it's what the astronomers tried to declare
that Mars and Venus never does
and will never intersect orbits
with millions of miles in between them
or what the astrologers tried to foretell
that a love unknown as a nameless star
can never really shine in the first place
because of the thousands of miles between us
but even if it takes an infinity of time or space
for us to reach one another
i would still stay and wait
by your side, i will hover
what matters for now is
i found you
amidst many others
i saw you
even in the dark
and i love you so
hi there! i havent written in a while for a friend!!
this time, here's one for esther my egg **** and her mingyudon boy **

fun facts i discovered as i wrote this:
- venus is also called the morning star/evening star; it's the brightest in the night sky after the moon!!
- mars has the tallest mountains in the entire solar system despite being the second smallest planet (TOL LIKE KMG)
- venus is love venus is beauty (obviously like esther<3)
- pieces of mars have fallen on earth
- venus is the hottest planet in the SS
- mars will have a ring one day (wedding ring or?????teehee)
A fragile little thing. Xylophone ribs that heaved as coral reefs beneath a hurricane, and a prominent spine, a mountain range down a plain of pale white. Mountain range cutting against a pale plain in sharp and jagged ridges, a volatile and fearful structure, shifting with the quakes that came from the planet's heart, a flighty beat. Gashes in the land, deep fissures in his earth from tremors of stress in his core, bringing more fractures and gashes in the delicate white frame.  Two brown moons, always wide and full. He was a dying planet, orbitting a dying star that pounded within, a ticking bomb awaiting a cataclysm; and such a force came to the withered shell of a planet. A supernova burst forth, and the fragile planet crumbled into nothing, thin fragile bones blowing away as dust among the stars, along with his brown moons and plains of sickly white. This was a death, and a beginning, too.

From the dust of his bones he reformed, the gashes of his tremors and quakes becoming hills and gentle ridges upon the healthy soil of his new skin. His spine no longer an unforgiving range of sharp bones and discomfort, now settled comfortably beneath his earth. A true structure to be relied upon, one that will not bend beneath force. His brown moons are warm and quiet, calming the tidal waves and vicious tremors that once stormed in his core and tore fissures upon his coasts. A living planet, one that could give hospitality and withstand forces unknown. It took a supernova, a death so loud all the solar system tembled in its wake; but from that, he was reborn. Greater than the sickly planet and fragile core, he became a system of stars and comets, constellations in beauty marks upon a thriving expanse of healed skin, a new being, strong and resilient.

Do not be afraid of the end, because more often than we may realize, it is a beginning; the one we have always needed.

I can't look at the sky
I can't stare at the waves
Is happiness being by your side though
Knowing that i'll be gone in the morning
This love continuing to be unsaved

I want my eyes to forget your
Existence
I want my heart to forget
That I hadn't felt this whole
Ever since.

My lips can meet new ones
I can touch other faces
I can feel the enchanting heat of the sun,
But the thoughts of you remain
Without waste.

You remain
In fragments of my life
Even if it comes with a side of pain

The sky used to keep me sane
Until it's inconsistent patterns
Screamed your name

The waves used to be my muse
Until its source of joy in my life
Reminded me that in yours
I am not and am only of
Temporary use.

Cosmos in her eyes
Solar systems speckled across her skin
Teeth of shining suns
Scars of waning moons rail thin
Hair woven with nebluas
Skin made of stardust
Dark matter etched under her fingernails
Solar wind flowing through her lungs
Interstellar dust collects in her veins
Her heart a comet in the sky
Her smile as dwarf star
And a soul made of twisting and swirling colors burning hotter than the day
Stitched together in cloth of flesh
Hidden deep inside broken clay and yet
Despite the black hole clawing at her mind
This starchild won’t leave
I am made of galaxies

You cannot **** me

If I could hold you close
would I rip your clothes,
or run my fingers through your hair?
I think I prefer to love you from afar,
my guiding star, my Beatrice.
From you would I steal a kiss?
That would just make earthly my heavenly bliss.
I know what I love is more than you,
you are only a symbol
of what’s beautiful and true.

We revolve in twin orbit, fan and star.
Love is like gravity,
bending space and time,
locking us in a dance--
spinning in rhythm, a cosmic balance--
what seems like great distance
bridged by the knowledge
of a fast-beating heart.
Together we glow more brightly than apart.
And between us there is no night,
only heat and fire and light.
I wrote this poem six years ago after viewing astronomy photos of twin stars. The photos made me think about celebrities and fans and their interdependent relationship.

you went like rockets that day
up and up and up
until you drifted in outerspace
                                   waiting
for a star to burst apart
dust by dust,
             light by light
oblivion by
             oblivion

                                  waiting,
             for them to unravel
             like you unr a v e  l  e   d

tracing the outer rim of your
asteroids, you
                               wandered
into every constellation in this
existence, take them by their hand
                    left them wanting and
scorched

craters littered your heart, filled
with asteroids belt
                 burying the starlight,
                 rings a shade of sorrow

you made your moon black, and
you said you deserved it

Once,
a little planet said to you
that you have supernovas
                              behind your
                                          eyes
only to see it die,
after

you told me,
          in between light years,
that you are nothing but a comet
dying at the heart with nothing
left to
lose

but you forgot, a comet is beautiful
                 because it falls while burning
                                  fighting to live, still
even when it knows it's
dying
She'll disappear behind the velvet drapes,
Then sneak into your room one night
Throwing light on secrets that
Your mind had been keeping from you
As you taste them
Through gritted teeth, during nightmares.

She'll only show that frozen, calm exterior,  cold as ice.
But she'll bring your emotions to boiling point
As she tugs out tides of emotions shooting out of your heart,
A clenched fist of emotions bursting at the seams till now.

Who knows what secrets lie on the dark side of the moon?
I can tell you,
She'll be out of sight for a fortnight
but not out of your mind,
And she certainly can hide secrets even though she's so often in the spotlight.

i formed constellations on your face
with every point that my lips touched
and i ended with your eyelids
which opened up to me
and i saw the stars

so i came to realize
that neither astronomy or astrology
can explain how much i love you
i held the entire universe
when i held you close in my arms
this is one of my favorites from the Pocketry Series. it started with the "kissing eyelids are cute" kind of idea, and it flowed from there. i always try to look for the stars in everyone's eyes.

8/13 of the Pocketry Series.
