Your existence is truly a gift
to all who experience you.
I am forever grateful to be here
on Earth at the same time as you.
Cotton Candy Jun 2019
i let softness sit in my chest
cotton candy woven between ribs
sweet and light and a bit sticky to the touch,
hard to untangle oneself from

i let softness take a seat at the table
fold its hands in its lap
smile, nod, and listen with joy
such polite company, the kind you hope stays late

i let softness make its home here
to the best of my ability
welcome it openly and appreciate its presence
try and return its kindness
made this as my first poem hence my username lol,,, i'll try to write more often.

Scattered all throughout
A piece that I secretly hide
The puzzles on the floor
And it's you that I adore.

Shattered all over
A piece that I can't deny
The puzzles on the floor
And I swear to love you more.

Dedicating this poem to the one I love; the missing piece to my puzzle. You made my life complete long before I even realize it.

I love you, B. ~
The moon changes subtly
Whenever we gaze away,
As our worries evolve swiftly
And our joys stay the same.

Perhaps she is a beacon
Baring light for our souls,
Enticing us into her depths
With glimpses of the heart's gold.

Blessed enchantress,
Affixed in a gentle way,
Dragging all from ached misery
And harboring us in her supple bay.

Reject ye thy sun's beating rays
& dispel lightning's spiteful bright tase,
Look only to the night sky as it glistens
If you seek to bask in nature's grace.
The Heart's Gold is more a subject of the soul than it is of heart.

The little things make me happy
Taking walks in the rain with one of my best friends while talking about life
Singing out my favorite songs that makes me smile
Belting out wrong notes knowing that I won’t care about who is around to hear me
Sitting in a Barnes & Noble talking about everything
Chilling in my room watching any movie or show
Dancing around as I go to classes
Knowing that my friends will always be there for me, supporting me in all my worst times
When things get tough
I think of the happiest moments in my life
My sister actually understanding me
Getting my dogs
Meeting my 2 best friends in the whole world
Graduating high school
….soon to be graduating from college
Realizing that I am graduating from college
Going out into the real world, “I’m good, I don’t want that yet”
It may be scary, but I will have my friends by my side giving me new ways to smile
I am ready for what the world has in store for me
As long as I can find ways to smile
My smile is my weapon
No one can take that away from me, even if they tried…
They have a line of people to get through before coming to me
My happiness is one of my best traits
I make friends with it
The little things get me through the bad days
Those little things have kept me going and kept me strong
Kept pushing me to go bigger and better
One best friend has been there for me since 8th grade
Not a day goes by that we don’t remind each other that we appreciate each other
The other best friend walked into my life with Thor’s hammer this past year
I remind them that no one is taking me away
No refunds to either of my best friends because I wouldn’t want to return them ever
The minute that happens, that’s when I am going to an asylum for my bad decisions
When people ask me...what is something that makes me happy?
I say, hanging out with one of my best friends
No one makes me happier than those two weirdos
I wouldn’t trade them in for anything
What are the little things that make you happy?
One of my best friends told me to write about what makes me happy to go back to when life gets rough.

Touch and hold my heart
and i'll show you my loves endurance
it can stand strong and firm
even through your storms
It will be bright
Even if you're dark
It will be a step
When you need to reach up higher
it will be there to catch you
if ever you feel you are falling

because my love is unlike any other
it cemented in my knowledge
that you are such a precious thing
a treasure to never let go
There was a street in Paris
where a woman sat playing her violin.
Many would pass and ignore,
others would pass and admire.

The music she played was painful
A blood-curding sound
that brought depression
Onto anyone who stops to listen.

It made men regret their lives,
and woman appreciate theirs.
A sound so horrid and disturbing
could only be heard up close.

The street was famous for one story.
A woman named Charnel.
Who played the violin to support
her husband and his way of life.

She played day in and day out.
Never making enough to please her husband.
In a drunken rage he pushed her,
out the window and onto the gravel sidewalk.

Stained red and black.
The sidewalk is walked apon but hundreds.
Men feeling regret and pain.
Woman feeling appreciation and love.

For the past 99 years
this street has become known
for male suicides.
And they continue to this day.

Above and below, I go.
To and fro, to and fro.
I'll row my rowing boat
To touch every jelly fish
And kiss every sharks lips.
Then I'll row,
Far across the star filled sea
To dance and bounce
On a whales leather belly.
And if he's hungry,
Perhaps I'll let him take a
Small bite out of me!
