Her body calls to me like metal,
Like an air plane, like a pale cold beach,
Mid-morning dew right next to
The peach with blossoms and tea leaf.

The sharpest razor cuts into the neck,
It glides along slowly, shark in the dark,
I blink and try not to think of it's cold
Surface, like rose petals in a greying park.

It's a lost cause, but still I've gotten
Somewhere in ranks, the banners, the tanks,
All along the border the steely birds that prey
Are lined up, for the lost lives we give "thanks."

Building this wall, we've got to support some dream,
It's a popularity thing, it's about being disposable,
A quick fix in a time of uncertainty, of loyal dogs,
We look great spattered in red, this is encourage-able.

It's a fine line between do or die, we've just found
A way to make it seem like we are in the right,
Give the peaceful natives and hippies a "clue" of what is true,
We'll make "reasonable sacrifice," bring death with "Gods light."

Nothing Much Jan 2015
I've always had itchy feet
Never can sit still
Or let the soles of my shoes fuse to the ground

I keep my home around my neck
Wear it in a golden heart shaped locket
I misplaced my compass but never lost myself

I crave the ground passing beneath my feet
Beneath wheels and airplane shadows
I measure my age in miles acquired

I've seen the Milky Way from every angle
And swam in every sea
I keep going, going, going
And I never stop to wonder what I'm running from
Wrote this on a train!

tiny blue houses line the beige, red, and green grass that lines the runway

the city from above is a rainbow mosaic of bustling focus,
in markets, on scooters, in neatly trimmed parks

now it fades to white, a blending for from ground to sky
meeting, joining, the whispy clouds that lay, for now above

I see Thoreau as a token
You and my airplane ticket.

I never get it why you only declare your love for Thoreau
Instead of something darker, Hunter S Thompson,Marijuana
Or me.

Traveling in Denmark now, I guess you'll eventually head to the Netherlands.
Where your true colors shine through your eye socket.

Oh, so I still admire you
Dreaming of having a walk with you beside Walden
Having Arizona ice tea in the dessert

I beg Thoreau to win me an airplane ticket to
The unknown

I seek,
But I cannot find.
I listen,
But I cannot hear.
I love you,
But I cannot love you.
~~
You let me drown in the seas,
You left me to burn in the fire,
You left me helplessly in the middle of a war,
You let me fall for you,
You let me to die in this world,
Without caring my heart was broken.
~~
I'll send a kiss to you,
Soaring in the air hoping it reaches you,
Just like I send a paper airplane.
But there's a catch to it.
I can't send an airplane without making it.
So I can't send a kiss without meaning it.
~~
One.
Two.
Three.
Not one.
Not two.
But three times did you break my heart when a gave you a heartbreaking chance.
~~
I don't know. I wouldn't really write this. But I've seen many people with broken hearts. I guess I'll dedicate these to them.

i watch the little red seatbelt sign
flicker off
the man next to me is asleep
he has a british accent
and smells like hotel soap
my ears pop
and i look at the clouds
funny how clouds no longer seem
so solid when you get so close to them
(i guess people are like that, too)
a lady in a polyester red blazer
brings me ****** coffee and smiles
i don't think she wants to be here
i smile back
its just me
hotel soap guy (now snoring loudly)
my notebook
and the clouds
this 53 minute flight
is much too short
and i don't want to come down
i wrote this on a flight last week for no reason

STRANDED

Shards of glass and scraps of metal
As the sand finally settled
I stared at the plane; a total wreck
Stranded, in hot soup we had landed

Quickly, we fled
Thoughtlessly, we ****** ahead,
Onto a lost, unknown trail
Unaware of what time would unveil

Days flew by without notice,
Every drop of water was bliss
Several miles away from home,
Stranded in what could be our tomb.

Tears rolled down our cheeks
Definitely, our future was bleak
Death was hiding under every stone
We were terrified, hungry and cold

We soon got bored
Our hopes were dashed
The situation was rather like a game show
We were stranded and so full of woe

Soon, Superman came,
But it was nothing like the video games.
Oh, at least we were alright,
Far, far away from the crash site

We were soon in the limelight,
Part of international affairs, just overnight
With parents, we reunited
No longer stranded, but certainly undecided
Loosely based on the book Walkabout

The ground beneath my feet is falling, crumbling, snatched away
And no, I don’t like this, not at all
What once was solid beneath my feet
Is now nothing more than empty space
With nothing holding us up but a tank of fuel
And a stranger in a room what seems a million miles away
With his flashing lights and fragile controls, who’s to say
That he won’t just let us fall
I've always wanted to fly, but I've never much liked flying in airplanes

It's like there are stars above the horizon
And below the depths.
Double the wishes
Double the possibilities
Double the chances.
I pass over clusters of stars
Bunched up together as a family.
In this hazy atmosphere
They shine bright
As a whole
And mark the path for
Wanderers
and
Travelers.
